The classic gakuran is still my favourite among all the extraordinary ones. You come across it in almost every anime series and yet it never gets boring. Being so plain and simple it gives every character a certain coolness and not to forget makes him sexy. ;)

Well yeah, as long as black is involved I never have a problem with it but these uniforms offer a perfect composition of colours. Red and Black! I love that the trousers are red (and not black as one would expect). It includes a classy tie and even a beige sweater matches the uniform.

(Shizuo Heiwajima, Kyohei Kadota, Shinra Kishitani & Izaya Orhihara)

When the Raira Academy High School was still called Raijin two kinds of uniforms were common. The blue one that Shizu-chan and Shinra are wearing became the one that was later common in Raira. It looks similar to a normal suit and is also one of the plain ones that nevertheless have a strong appeal. Not only does it look good on those two but also on the younger generation in Raira (Mikado, Kida).

The uniform Kadota and Izaya are wearing is generally just a usual gakuran, just with some small differences. Making'em more individual they are wearing colourful shirts beneath the jacket instead of the white ones. Izaya's style is a bit more different (though it also isn't uncommon in animes). The jacket is shorter and reveals some of his red shirt and oh! believe me, I could look at him in this uniform forever. *q*

So yet again the simple style seems to be the most handsome for me.

(Jun Kanzato [back] & Shin Kanzato [right])

I've got the feeling that every uniform that has ever appeared in the Persona series looked unsually good. The Naginomori one is no exception. The dark colours make the characters look elegant yet casual. The simple grey tones with the few small black parts and then this contrasting white shirt...aa~ subarashii~! (Although it seems to me that Shin-chans uniform looks slightly different in this picture ô.o)

Persona 4

(Sôji Seta/Yu Narukami)

Also Yasogami Gakuen thought of some freakin' beautiful uniforms. Take the gakuran and add some nice contrasting, white seams all over it. Then append some ingenious square-pattern to the collar. It's gorgeous, especially with the different characters' nifty accessories!

(Yubel as Johan)

Not that this guy isn't already hot enough without any uniform...but this makes it perfect. The cloak-like, sleeveless jacket with all the beltss and the skin-tight top give him that slight greaser'ish look (which is not really uncommon in YGO though).Except that it's predominantly kept in an blue tones.
Probably only partly counts as a school uniform since it's existence derives from the transformation to an evil self.


(Judai Yuki)

Following now will be all the dorm-representative uniforms. The first one is the jacket for the dorm Osiris Red/Slifer Red. Sometimes it's also seen as a white jacket with a few red parts but I prefer the red one with only little white in it. Because red is powerful and stylish. :)


(Daichi Misawa)

This uniform represents the dorm Ra Yellow and is therefore in the homonymous colour. There is also the version with the little yellow and much white but it's never seen on any of the guys and I prefer the depicted version anyway.

(Jun Manjoume)

As soon as it's about the Obelisk Blue dorm the outfits become more cape-like and more elegant that way. Of course there is also the alternative version with colours reversed which is also looking good but I'll get to that in the next picture. The deep blue is still the superior one for me! Btw: I dont know if the boots belong to the uniform anymore but in any case they look good on Jun-chan. ;)


(Jun Manjoume)

This uniform almost looks like the Obilisk Blue one but it's not. Those long-tailed jackets have a more lavender than blue colour and represent the Society of Light. And I think that makes them look better. Too bad that the society itself is not that approvable.


(Johan Andersen)

When not under Yubel's possession Johan wears a a blue (partly white) jacket with darker outlines that only goes up to his waist. The whole thing reminds of the obelisk Blue uniform, yet it's got some black in it so it's cooler than the latter. d:


(Jun Manjoume)

Here we have Jun's North Academy uniform which probably isn't that different from the other students' uniforms but the only one the viewer gets to see. It's just a plain black jacket and yet it looks so incredibly good.
Black and plain, it really is the essence of a proper uniform and answer to all your problems. :3

(Kyoya Hibari)

Hey, guess what! It's another gakuran. Now we have someone who just wears it in a different style again. Kyoya can always be seen with his jacket over his shoulders like a delinquent. Ironically the badge of the "Middle School's Discipline Committee" of which he is the leader is attached to the left sleeve of this jacket. And however you look at it, that rebellious and slightly informal look IS an eyeturner *nyehehe~*.


(Kyoya Hibari)

Probably belonging to a winter uniform is this marvellous sweater vest with a fancy tie and the comittee-badge on the left shirt sleeve. I think the jacket is probably a black blazer or one in gakuran style. Whatever it may be, there's no need to cover up the present beauty anyway! ;)

The custom Namimori uniform consisting of a beige blazer with the school's emblem above a white shirt and a blue tie. Yes, yes that works for me pretty much.


(Mukuro Rokudo)

Here's another gakuran that is only worn by the members of the Kokuyo Junior High Gang though. It's coloured in a remarkable olive green! And Mukuro decided to wear a t-shirt with a misty design beneath it- how clever! ;D (Mukuro is the 10th Vongola Guardian of Mist)

Oi looky-looky, here's a futuritsic uniform. Although it's mainly white it still has managed to keep a certain amount of black-red combo, isn't that just terrific? :) This belt and gah~! the whole design in general.
Is this the gakuran of the future? Because it also has the characteristic collar...

(Koyomi Araragi)

The sixth gakuran in this list (and surprisingly the last).
Barely different from the original design BUT these small varieties have a tremendous effect on the overall appearance. It's that red-black combination I told you about before. It always works! And I mean that.

(Kukai Souma)

With just the black blazer and its golden buttons the Seiyo senior uniform would already look pretty neat. But then there is that tie with an incredibly dressy green check pattern. That is more than enough to make this a spectacular uniform; because ties in general are already enticing.

(Hikaru Ichinomiya)

The Seiyo Junior uniform consists of a black blazer with an adorable blue chequered bow-tie and shorts of the same pattern (and luckily NOT that stupid Royal Cape). Beneath it is a blue sweater. Yes, I happily approve of this. Check pattern really is classy! (Btw: One has to consider that this is actually only an elementary school! Damn those rich kids! :P)


(Ikuto Tsukiyomi)

Ikuto's high school has made this kind of uniform customary. Pretty much the same as the senior one from Seiyo Academy, just simpler, less noble and without the tie. Still hot!

As it is right and proper for a extravagant and highly regarded school, Ashford Academy's uniforms have a more or less royal touch to them. And although they might look weird at first I think they surely look elegant. It's a bit like a a military uniform for the rich. It's relatively simple with the only salient parts being the buttons, the emblem and the outline in a strong gold. I wonder where I get this martial vibe from... it can't only be that belt, can it? xD

Now here's some fancy colour combo for a school uniform. Green blazer with pink ties? Yep, that matches beautifully. The beige trousers bring out the colours of the jacket even better. And to give it a more elegant touch there are white curlicued outlines. Lovely!

At this point people might think: "Didn't we have this uniform already?"
Let me tell you:
"No, rest assured. We did not. The previous one of resemblance featured a beige jacket and a blue tie with greyish trousers. The uniform at Ôsai Academy consists of a more brownish blazer with a red tie and brown trousers. That is different."
Don't say anything. I'm just obsessed with male school uniforms. It's still at a healthy stage.

A purple uniform. How awesome is that?! No, seriously. First of all I love those striped trousers and then the blazer has that cool shape. And all of that in purple! *o* It's not really one of my favourite colours but I think it looks great on guys.

Most likely one of the most well-known uniforms in anime history considering the popularity of "Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuuutsu". A some kind of blue blazer with the school's emblem on the breat pocket and a red neck tie, all that with matching low-keyed trousers. What's so great about it is the colour which I can not define. It's some kind of blue-green-turquoise and it's marvellous.

For such rich and noble school one might expect something very luxurious but Ouran Academy has introduced a more simple attire. Mere blue jackets with the Ouran emblem and ebony trousers. There's also a tie, but not a normal one. It's got one extraordinary pattern with one pink streak on top of an otherwise fully black fabric. That certainly looks impressive to me. :)

Yay, some red again. Those pretty jackets are worn above a white shirt and a blue-striped neck-tie, alternatively above one of those lovely beige sweaters as well. And then they've got these trousers in that blue-green colour I cannot define. Whatever; I adore it and that's the only thing that's important. :P

The guys in Fumizuki Academy are getting nice little uniforms with a dark blazer with yellow outlines and blue trousers. A blue neck-tie with the Fumuzuki emblem also comes with it. And all in all it has a strangely serio-comic effect. I don't really know why but i like it. ;)

Random person: "We saw this uniform like two other times!"

Me: "No, we did not. At first glance it may look like the Namimori Uniform from KHR but it's different. Take a closer look. Sure, beige jacket with blue tie and greyish trousers, that is all the same but the guys from Angel Beats have a certain pattern of brown stripes on their jackets and that gives this uniform a totally different overall picture, don't you think?" ;)

(Akatsuki Kain, Kaname Kuran, Takuma Ichijo & Hanabusa Aido)

The Night Class at Cross Academy wears a rather outstanding school uniform. Beneath the white jacket with all the black stripes on'em there seems to be another white vest with the same pattern on beneath that is plain black shirt. What makes this uniform so ostentatious is the elaborate use of accessories. Take that red tie for example that has been affixed with a kingly silver clasp and the little braces (or whatever you call them) on the fron of their jackets. It certainly has a certain vibe of flamboyance but actually it is a little too much for my taste. Yet it surely has its appeal as well.


(Ichiru Kiryu)

Cross Academy's Day Class wears the same uniform, just in reversed colours. (Although in the anime the black looks rather blue but that's nothing new.) I like this one even more than the white one.

It's funny how the students at Kouryoukan Academy are forced to wear pink jackets and ties (no, I'm pretty sure it's a very dark pink and not red) and it's also funny how I totally approve of purple -calling it a manly colour- and find pink not very significant. But however you look at it it looks kinda good, even though it's pink. :P

Now I've really gone back to the basics. Everything is black. It's a like a gakuran, just in the blazer form. My lesson of the day is clear: Plain and simple, the existence of the essence. That doesn't even make sense.
