MIMIC is a series that recreates Picasso's paintings with hyper-realistic 3D models.
Everything about the new compositions is exactly the same as the original, making the series a fitting tribute to the iconic artist. After all, Picasso was the one who said, "Good artists copy; great artists steal."
This series is a self-initiated project by Omar Aqil. He's a digital artist from Pakistan with an affinity for abstract expressionism. Picasso has been his main source inspiration since he began a career in digital illustration and CGI effects.
Aqil's art is a trippy cocktail of surrealism, hyperrealism, and 3D modeling. He hopes to give Picasso's abstract shapes new meaning by translating them into recognizable 3D objects.
