Controversial movies I haven't seen (by Redmist)
![]() What is it about? A New York University professor returns from a rescue mission to the Amazon rainforest with the footage shot by a lost team of documentarians who were making a film about the area's local cannibal tribes. Do I actually want to see this? Nope. I think i will never gonna watch this. (Actually, I watched 'Salo' before. It was a nightmare, and i think this one will gonna be disturbing too.) ![]() What is it about? Two pretty American girls are on a road trip through Europe. In Germany they end up alone at night with a broken car in the woods. They search for help and find an isolated villa. The next day they awake to find themselves trapped in his terrifying makeshift basement hospital along with a Japanese man. An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However his three "patients" are not about to be separated, but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric system, in doing so bringing to life his sick lifetime fantasy "the human centipede". Do I actually want to see this? Another disgusting torture movie, absolutely NO. ![]() What is it about? Since a road accident left him with serious facial and bodily scarring, a former 'TV scientist' has become obsessed by the marriage of motor car technology with what he sees as the 'raw sexuality' of car-crash victims. The scientist, along with a crash victim he has recently befriended, sets about performing a series of sexual acts in a variety of motor vehicles, either with other crash victims or with prostitutes who they contort into the shape of trapped-corpses. Ultimately, the scientist craves a suicidal union of blood, semen and engine coolant, a union with which he becomes dangerously obsessed. Do I actually want to see this? YES! I love Cronenberg movies, i was looking forward to this, looks great, totally gonna see it! ![]() What is it about? Events over the course of one traumatic night in Paris unfold in reverse-chronological order as the beautiful Alex (Monica Bellucci) is brutally raped and beaten by a stranger in the underpass. Her boyfriend and ex-lover take matters into their own hands by hiring two criminals to help them find the rapist so that they can exact revenge. A simultaneously beautiful and terrible examination of the destructive nature of cause and effect, and how time destroys everything. Do I actually want to see this? 'Enter the Void' was good, Gaspar Noe is a talented director, looks pretty good, YES. ![]() What is it about? TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands - and he hasn’t aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he’s immortal. But he doesn’t have fangs, and he doesn’t drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? Do I actually want to see this? NO!!! ![]() What is it about? Bonnie Parker is bored with life and wants a change. She gets her chance when she meets a charming young drifter by the name of Clyde Barrow. Clyde has dreams of a life of crime that will free him from the hardships of the Depression. The two fall in love and begin a crime spree that extends from Oklahoma to Texas. They rob small banks with skill and panache, soon becoming minor celebrities known across the country. People are proud to have been held up by Bonnie and Clyde; to their victims, the duo is doing what nobody else has the guts to do. To the law, the two are evil bank robbers who deserve to be gunned down where they stand. Do I actually want to see this? Maybe. ![]() What is it about? An amoral, HIV-positive skateboarder sets out to deflower as many virgins as possible while a local girl who contracted his disease tries to save his next target from her same fate. Do I actually want to see this? YES. Again, i don't know why, but this movie looks great. and also unusual. |

My suggestions :
- Crash. I really liked it but it is definitely an acquired taste... For example, it starts with 3 sex scenes with no connection whatsoever so you have been warned...
- Irréversible. Not a favorite of mine but still a good movie. Really heavy with the notorious 15 minute long rape scene and the scene with a fire extinguisher....
- Twilight. I guess you're trying to be humorous by saying it is controversial. Honestly, I thought this first movie was not bad at all. Nothing amazing but it was watchable. In my opinion, the love and hatred towards this franchise is really exagerated. It is just an average teenage vampire flick, nothing more, nothing less.
- Bonnie and Clyde. it was shocking and controversial BACK THEN not anymore. Still, it is a classic and pretty good movie. Definitely worth a look.
- The Texas Chainsaw massacre. It sounds horrifying but if you are used to horror movies, it is not really hardcore. Like Bonnie and Clyde, when it came out, it was shocking but not for nowadays standards. Furthermore, the ending is just a real mess. Still, it remains a classic and it is pretty good.
- Kids. indeed, a rather shocking movie but I didn't really enjoy it. In my opinion, it gives a very stereotypical view of teenagers and it really annoyed me. Still, it remains an interesting movie.
- Last Tango in Paris. Even 40 years later, it is still a weird movie. Imagine Marlon Brando starring in an erotical mindf*ck... I really liked this flick but it is definitely an acquired taste.
- Fahrenheit 9/11. Again, what is so controversial about this movie? I'm a big fan of Michael Moore and I really enjoyed this movie, even though 'Bowling for Columbine' is even better.
- Freaks. A really weird movie but I really liked it. I have never seen something similar before and I wonder if they could make a movie like this nowadays.
Highly recommend The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (which by the way isn't a true story). Freaks is really good too.
Gummo was pointless from what I managed to watch of it, and Cannibal Holocaust was so insanely boring I never got to any of the things that are supposedly "good" about it.
and i would really recomment to stay as far as posible from twilight. really
