mickey rourke as a transexual. and tom arnold as the creepiest sexual predator that will haunt your nightmares. John laurie does the soundtrack and it's a ambient fuck fest that will scramble your brain. Major slow burn here. This thing just sizzles and worms it's way into your brain. Perfect movie. Bravo steve buscemi!

John Lilly off the wall craziness. You know those guys that base their lives off of a movie, you know if they need to make a decision, they ask themselves what would scarface do? Or they always dress up like Raoul Duke and drink too much and smoke with a cigarette holder and are obsessed with trying ether. Or wear a bathrobe in public and drink white russians while bowling. That shit is lame. Unless they take tons of dmt while laying in a sensory deprivation tank. Cause this movie is awesome, and I want everything in it to happen to me.

The Convent (2000)
this is just fun, fun, fun. the fact that this isn't much more of a widely loved cult film is a shame. it's such a pleasure to come across these virtually unknown gems. one of the things i miss about video rental stores is digging around and taking chances on things you've never heard of. a lot of the time you feel disappointed, but every once in a while you find something by some unknown director, starring unknown actors, and it turns out to be a stylish spastic drugged-out demonic zombie nun exploitation film, and that satisfaction of finding a little pot of cultural gold, that is yours, a little secret piece of happiness, untainted by the masses, that is what keeps you digging, through shitty film, after shitty film, because when you find treasure, it's worth it. also, this has the best representation of a magic mushroom trip i have ever seen. it actually feels like you are tripping out.

Massively underrated. For being almost 20 years old, and relying so heavily on cgi, it still looks pretty darn good. The scene where they get sucked into hell is especially impressive. Michael J. Fox is fantastic as a scummy burn-out, and I believe this is Jeffrey Combs greatest role, and that says a lot, way creepier, crazier, and awkward than even from beyond or re-animator. He goes way, way, out there. Peter Jackson is fantastic at off the wall craziness, but what people overlook is that the reason it works so well, is because he takes his time and sets up atmosphere, and this movie has both sides of the coin, creepy atmosphere and ballistic lunacy. This has ''cult following'' written all over it.

I full on cried at the end of this. Just an amazing story. Just a warning, yes nails do get hammered through dicks. But beyond that it's a love story of two people trying to make it in a horrifying world.

If you haven't seen this, get on it. It is uneven in tone near the end, but this whole film is such a surprise from wes craven. The nightmare reality is on par with elm street. I can understand why this one slipped through the cracks, the subject matter is too weird for your average horror fan, and it's too creepy for everyone else. It's a beautiful nightmare of a film.

Road movie? Buddy film? Search for the american dream? All of the above and it has the greatest psychedelic trip ever from the brain of rob zombie. Makes easy rider look like national lampoon's vacation. One of my favourite movies of all time, no lie! Beavis' "we're never gonna score" speech always touches me in such a profound way.

this is super cool. even if you aren't really a wrestling fan, the behind the scenes story, the insane characters involved, the controversies, feuds, drama, triumphs, it's an almost shakespearean story. true underdogs who believed in themselves, and dyi'd it for much longer than anyone expected. more than anything, it's a story of a mom and pop shop that folded under the pressure of a mega corporation. if you think wrestling is trash, this might open your eyes to the culture of it, it's originators, and the underground artists and stars that have influenced the mainstream. very punk rock. ECW is the black flag to WWE's blink-182.

Idle Hands (1999)
This is better than it should be. It deserves to be alongside the 80's horror-comedies that preceded it. I never would have given this a chance back in 99, because it was a "mainstream" movie, but it is definitely up there with the fright night and night of the creeps school of gore and goofiness.

man, this is actually really fracking legit. i don't understand why it's rating is so low. this is pretty much a 21st century evil dead, ultra low budget, super creative, and actually really well made. and the scoring and sound production is amazing. if someone gave toetag a serious budget, they could really shake things up, as is, this film is totally uncompromising and freaky as fuck. it has a real lucio fulci the beyond/city of the living dead vibe to it. this one is gonna be rattling around in my brain for a while. it's amazing what creative film makers who are hungry can accomplish, while hollywood keeps rehashing the same boring shit.

He is actually a lot more eloquent than people give him credit for. Actually really fascinating dude. The Thing (2011)
I thought this was really smart. the way they pieced together the story from all the clues and destruction in the original. I would like to watch them back to back because the impression I got was that they were fairly seamless story wise. It brings a lot of depth to things you only briefly catch a glimpse of in the original. I know people didn't like the young girl being the main character, but aside from that, the tone was spot on and faithful to what the fans wanted.

I have been a huge MK fan since the game came out. Imagine being 10 years old and being able to rip someones head and spine out in a video game, way back when that type of shit didn't happen. This movie is on a so bad it's good level, but you really need to respect how far out they went with this thing! They didn't hold anything back! Just pure craziness!

Some of this stuff is mainstream, some of this stuff is super obscure. For whatever reason, all of these movies have made some form of impact on me, and I think they deserve to be watched, talked about, debated, whatever. Not everything on this list is a perfect movie, but they all have gotten a reaction out of me, which is something in this generation of remakes of remakes, and boring films that don't take chances. Nothing is worse than watching a film and being indifferent about it, or forgetting what happened immediately after watching it. Some of these films I haven't seen in 15 years, but that makes them even more relevant, as I'm still thinking about them half my life later. I don't know what I'm writing here. Whatever, it's late. Bon appetite.

Rumble Fish is alright and eXitenZ is awesome. I hated Freddy Got Fingered and Ginger Snaps. I haven't seen the rest yet.

Pusherman was directed by Nicoholas Winding Refn, the director of Drive. He made a trilogy.

There are many great films on this list. Rumble Fish is one of my all time favourites. It's criminally underrated.

I also love Bronson, Naked Lunch, Bad Santa, To Live and Die in L.A., Valhalla Rising, Lord of Illusions, Videodrome, Jacob's Ladder, Ginger Snaps, King of New York, Twin Peaks: Fire
Walk With Me, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover.........actually there are too many to mention.

We're on the same page.

Yeah pusher trilogy was made by refn, but they made a american remake, same story, different actors, and refn was the producer. It just makes me angry when you can only find the remakes and not the originals.
