Cinema & Its Bullsh*t

Superhero films

I despise most of the superhero films. Well I'm not a great comics fan, but that's not the point. The point is, most of superhero films are studio productions, and they all have just one goal, maximum profit. That is why most of them hardly have an interesting story/characters, even if based on the comics.

Films based in videogames

I'd love to see a good film based on a good videogame. The fact is, there are hardly any.

Too much pointless CGI is too much

When CGI takes the place of real characters or landscapes, I feel strangely disapointed. Specially with films made by favorite directors or sequels to great masterpieces.

Some of the things I hate about cinema these days.

^ What he said!

I hate most of them, yes. the few exceptions may be Hellboy, X-Men and Nolan's recent portrayal of Batman.

This is easily one of the worst lists on this website. Sorry, but what DO you like?

Fair enough, you do make some good points, but as a huge fan of ANOES, Final Destination, Saw and Babe I can't give this list my vote.

Plus I'm a sucker for diasaster films. Scientifically correct or not. I also hate to admit that I for some strange reason rather like Nicholas Cage.

Good calls on quite a few other films on this list.

@pikafan11 ... you see this movies enlisted here and your first question is "what do you like?" how about some real movies, for starters. some actual movies with real storie and real characters and real directing. you are probably the sort of guy who watches every year mtv movie awards and hasn't heard of any movie from the oscars... all of this movies here are shitty movies. "what do you like?" real fuckin movies!!

I agree with some of these, but the fact that you hate all superhero movies kinda puts me off... Sorry.

Omg... I think I love you. Death to all superhero movies, sequels, CGI fests, dumb animal stories and big budget, profit-generating bullshit! I salute you, for having the balls to make such an honest and brilliant list.

I have to say, I don't get it either. Granted, a number of these films listed here are cash cows but that doesn't mean they're bad. In fact, I see quite a few that were great films.

The Mummy. Underworld. 300. Babe. All of the films you listed under Patriotic/Army films. All of the disaster films listed....and Knowing. All of these films are actually very good!

Hell, most of these films were entertaining and that's the whole point. It's not a recruitment drive for the American military or believing that animals really can talk or that a great disaster would actually kill millions.

It's about suspending belief and enjoying the fantasy for a few hours. That's what movies are ALL about! I never understood critics that panned a film with the statement of, "That could never happen! This film is awful because it's not realistic."

It's all about suspending reality. Why would anyone just want to watch movies that would actually happen in real life? Sorry, man...

I agree with all your comments, even about the super-hero movies but you can at least make sure that you write 'Nicolas Cage' correctly.

Superheroes: don't agreee. Actually I am a Marvel fan :D

Based on videogames: agree with hexagon sun's comment.

Pointless CGI: true, especially when it is obvious CGI.

Lame movies on animals: true, but there are a few I liked too.

Bad sequels: true, generally speaking. I loved the Rocky saga, though.

Disaster movies / patriotic movies / movies featuring Nick Cage: well, depends on each movie!

I found the Batman movie with Jack Nicholson actually fairly good. Batman Returns is average, in my opinion. But Michelle Pfeiffer made a better Catwoman than bloody Anne Hathaway.

Why do people hate 300, its so good, Watchmen as well, they're quality films.
