A list of my choice hip hop/rap albums. In no particular order at the moment.

With all of the garbage being produced these days (Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, A-Game, etc.), I felt compelled to make this list of proper rappers, and albums. There was a time (mid 80s to mid 90s in particular) when hip hop was golden. Most of the stuff on this list will be from that time. However, with a little digging, some new gems can still be found as well (just have to wade through all the crap first), so there may be some newer stuff on here too.

I'll admit that some of these rappers aren't really saying much (lots of braggadocio / battle raps), but they are all excellent rappers, in terms of style, and flow, in my opinion.

A work in progress.

Thanks for linking me to this! I'll stop back by to check out the music I haven't heard yet soon, but the ones I have heard I dig.

So, that Edan is the same Edan who did the song "Friends"? I'll be honest, I didn't think he was an actual rapper. But apparently he is and I guess he's pretty good if you included him on this list.

Thanks for providing this information. My mind is kind of blown.

@the giraffe
No problem. Just glad to see that not everyone thinks Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive. lol

@PhineasPoe
Not sure what "Friends" track you're referring to? Do you mean this track:

If you mean that track, then yes, same Edan. He is a real rapper. That song is a joke. He can rap circles around most rappers, I think.

Fuck Lil Wayne. And pretty much every rap/hip-hop artist that's currently popular/mainstream. I miss selling out being a BAD thing in hip-hop.
