Heroes

People who added this item 142  Average listal rating (81 ratings) 7.7  IMDB Rating
1. Super Castlevania IV - Super famicom and SNES
Simon Belmont

The most legendary vampire killer of them all. Simon represents virtue and goodness, and significantly broke barriers against dying one's hair unnatural colors back in the day.

Main Attack: He can whip his Vampire Killer in all directions and brandish it
Special Attack: He can use his Dagger, Holy Water, Boomerang, Axe, and Stop Watch sub-weapons
Recovery: He can catch stray hooks with his whip and swing back onto the platform

People who added this item 28  Average listal rating (10 ratings) 6.7  IMDB Rating
2. Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge - Game Boy
Christopher Belmont

Christopher Belmont is an ancestor of Simon who risked his life to rescue his own flesh-and-blood son rather than some soul mate or whatever Dracula and the other Belmonts keep going on about.

Main Attack: He can whip using the Vampire Killer, unleashing a fireball from the end as a projectile
Special Attack: Can use his Dagger, Holy Water, Cross, Axe, and Stop Watch sub-weapons
Recovery: Climbs up a rope and jumps off back onto the stage

People who added this item 7  Average listal rating (3 ratings) 7.7  IMDB Rating
3. Akumajō Dracula X: Chi no Rondo - TurboGrafx CD
Richter Belmont

Richter brings to the table the item crush ability, and no, I don't mean he'll ruin your dinnerware.

Main Attack: Standard Vampire Killer whip attack
Special Attack: He can perform item crushes specific to the Dagger, Holy Water, Cross, Axe, Stop Watch and Holy Book sub-weapons
Recovery: He backflips... Forward... Onto the stage

Maria Renard

Maria, Richter's sister-in-law, has a group of animals obediently at her beck-and-call. She's everything PETA despises.

Main Attack: Throws doves at the enemy, and they return promptly
Special Attack: She can use her Bird, Cat, Dragon, Egg, Turtle, and Music Book sub-weapons
Recovery: Blazing forward-upward somersault

People who added this item 100  Average listal rating (54 ratings) 7.8  IMDB Rating
4. Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse - Famicom and NES
Grant Danasty

Grant's a petty thief, which means he'll steal your insights and pass them off as his own in conversation all because you wore his bandana without asking.

Main Attack: Short below-the-belt dagger strike
Special Attack: He can use the Dagger, Axe, and Stop Watch sub-weapons
Recovery: He can climb up cliffs, along the bottom of platforms, and ceilings to a number of effects

Sypha Belnades

Sypha's the standard magic user. Why does magic have to have such low self-esteem?

Main Attack: Uses her Warakiya Staff for short ranged attacks
Special Attack: She can use her Hole Flame, Ice, and Lightning sub-weapons
Recovery: She could probably use her staff to float somehow

People who added this item 332  Average listal rating (184 ratings) 8.6  IMDB Rating
5. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - PlayStation
Alucard

Alucard is a thorn in Dracula's side which Fangs'll never be rid of. Did I mention he's his son? Well, that's kind of assumed.

Main Attack: He slashes with his Alucard Sword and can throw a wave of three stacked fireballs at the enemy
Special Attack: Summons his Ghost, Bat, Demon, Faerie, and Sword familiars
Recovery: Turns into a bat and flies back on stage, then into a mist which gives him extra distance

People who added this item 289  Average listal rating (137 ratings) 7.4  IMDB Rating
6. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - Nintendo DS
Soma Cruz

Is he really Dracula reincarnated as an innocent, or is he just a person who's inherited his powers? Who cares - let's just enjoy watching the fanboys argue vehemently over it.

Main Attack: Uses a long sword to slash enemies
Special Attack: Takes advantage of a selection of his Tactical Souls abilities
Recovery: Flies in grey-blue bat form and uses the Flying Armor ability to slow down his fall afterward

People who added this item 100  Average listal rating (40 ratings) 8.1  IMDB Rating
7. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - Nintendo DS
Shanoa

She's been stripped of her emotions, and yet she calls herself a woman.

Main Attack: Uses one of her Rapier glyphs to tear into enemies
Special Attack: Uses one of her Fidelus glyphs to summon helpers
Recovery: Uses her Manges Glyph to launch herself magnetically onto solid ground

Albus

Shanoa's caring adoptive brother. He'd probably shoot me if he read the above quip.

Main Attack: Fires with his Agartha gun and Optical Shot
Special Attack: Uses his Torpor Crystal which expands and surrounds enemies
Recovery: Warps back to the platform

People who added this item 62  Average listal rating (30 ratings) 7.8  IMDB Rating
8. Castlevania: Bloodlines - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive
Eric Lecarde

The most famed member of the Lecarde family; you might even say he's its spearhead.

Main Attack: Uses his Alucard Spear to jab left, right, upward and downward at enemies and twirl for momentary offensive-protection
Special Attack: He can perform item crashes specific to his Holy Water, Boomerang, Axe, and Spear Head subweapons
Recovery: He can launch himself upward and forward by pole vaulting with his spear

People who added this item 109  Average listal rating (51 ratings) 7.4  IMDB Rating
9. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance - Game Boy Advance
Maxim Kischine

He's a ninja, and he doesn't even drive a Honda Civic. For shame.

Main Attack: Slices the enemy with his short sword
Special Attack: His shuriken strike, which is superior to the Holy Cross as it covers more area
Recovery: He can quadruple jump

People who added this item 138  Average listal rating (64 ratings) 7.7  IMDB Rating
10. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Nintendo DS
Charlotte Aulin

Bible Beating Vs. Intellectualism? Why not combine elements of both!

Main Attack: Hits enemies with her literature
Special Attack: Takes advantage of a selection of her spells
Recovery: She could probably cast a spell to help her fly or something

Monsters

People who added this item 3  Average listal rating (0 ratings) 0  IMDB Rating
11. Bram Stoker's Dracula - Super famicom and SNES
Dracula

Suave, sophisticated, morally questionable... He's like the 007 of blood-sucking.

Main Attack: Throws a column of three Hellfire fireballs and can shoot three Dark Inferno meteor balls one after another for extra oomph
Special Attack: Transforms into his demon form which gives him extra size, strength, and its own share of abilities
Recovery: Turns into a bat and flaps his way back on stage (but in the baddest way possible) and can teleport for additional length

People who added this item 22  Average listal rating (5 ratings) 5.4  IMDB Rating
12. Breath of Death VII: The Beginning - PC Games
Death

Even Death itself serves as second-in-command to Dracula! How does that make you feel, "Grim" Reaper? Yeah, that's what I thought. I'd like to see you kill me right now. I didn't think so. What's a matter? Baby gonna cry? You have no authority over--

Main Attack: Uses his scythe to slash sideways and overhead
Special Attack: Summons a ring of mini-scythes around him which disperse and zone in on enemies
Recovery: He can fly; he's Death; he'll kill you

People who added this item 2  Average listal rating (2 ratings) 7.5  IMDB Rating
13. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein - Super famicom and SNES
Frankenstein's Monster

A misunderstood tragic hero borne of dead body parts and the brain of a killer. Not even his bride appreciates him.

Main Attack: Uses his big strong arms to pound and can send electrical currents out to zap the enemy
Special Attack: Becomes imbued with electric energy and becomes a walking hazard - for his opponent
Recovery: Sends out an electrical line to pull himself back on stage

People who added this item 3  Average listal rating (2 ratings) 5  IMDB Rating
14. Skeleton Warriors - PlayStation
Skeleton

He's your standard Castlevania minor enemy. I'll be even he could wipe the floor with D--

Main Attack: Throws bones at the enemy
Special Attack: Throws a giant bone which deals impressive damage
Recovery: Separates its leg bones into a line that extends from its arm to the edge of the stage platform, pulling itself back on

People who added this item 19  Average listal rating (6 ratings) 7.7  IMDB Rating
15. Zombie Revenge - Sega Dreamcast
Zombie

These suckers just keep inching their way toward you. Slow and steady intimidates the Belmont, so to speak.

Main Attack: Writhes at enemies and can take a significantly greater amount of hits than most fighters
Special Attack: Cashes in a favor and calls in its fellow brain-eaters to help finish the job
Recovery: Throws its upper body on the stage as the rest of it falls, after which the lower body re-materializes on the battleground

People who added this item 2  Average listal rating (0 ratings) 0  IMDB Rating
16. Choose Your Own Nightmare: Night of the Were... - PC Games
Werewolf

This thing's fast and fierce, ripping through all flesh he picks up the scent for. He's not all bad, though - just during a full moon.

Main Attack: Agility and nimble combat moves
Special Attack: Goes berserk and becomes more reckless and powerful
Recovery: The moon pulls him closer to it, and thus the stage

People who added this item 15  Average listal rating (9 ratings) 4.4  IMDB Rating
17. The Mummy - PlayStation
Mummy

Besides Death, this guy has the most experience out of all the bad guys. Unfortunately, most of that experience is in counting sheep in wait of being excavated.

Main Attack: Whips at enemies with his bandaging
Special Attack: Retreats to his tomb and emerges seconds later with some health replenished
Recovery: Extends his bandaging and pulls himself into the ring again

People who added this item 271  Average listal rating (159 ratings) 7.3  IMDB Rating
18. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Xbox 360
Golem

He's the king of rock, which means he'll gain lots of weight later on in life - however that works for animated stone beings.

Main Attack: Throws rocks at enemies
Special Attack: Tosses two boulders down the arena which tumble and knock into enemies
Recovery: Curls up into a ball and somersaults to solid ground

People who added this item 28  Average listal rating (10 ratings) 7  IMDB Rating
19. Aquaria - PC Games
Merman

The merman is pretty capable for a minor enemy, and he'll never miss an opportunity to remind you. It makes holding a real conversation with the guy incredibly frustrating.

Main Attack: Fires water blast at enemies
Special Attack: Temporarily goes off stage, returning out of the blue elsewhere to attack off-guard combatants
Recovery: Shoots a powerful spray of water below it and propels itself diagonally upward

People who added this item 34  Average listal rating (14 ratings) 6.5  IMDB Rating
20. Sonic and the Black Knight - Nintendo Wii
Axe Armor

This protectorate of Drac's castle throws his might axe and catches it as it returns. It's all a very monotonous back-and-forth, and conflicts with his aspirations to move to Lubbock and become its most decorated interior designer.

Main Attack: Swings and throws its axe
Special Attack: Charges on-stage opponents
Recovery: Throws its axe to the edge of the stage, extends its arm out, and pulls itself up

People who added this item 1  Average listal rating (0 ratings) 0  IMDB Rating
21. Minotaurus (LEGO Games 3841) - Board Game
Minotaur

As part of his training, Dracula required him to complete the entire Maze Craze puzzle book series. He secretly handed them off to the castle's rat population, since they're better at solving such things.

Main Attack: Swings its axe sideways and overhead
Special Attack: Extends its axe and brings it down on all enemies within a good distance in front of it
Recovery: Catches the edge of the stage with its axe and pulls itself on board

People who added this item 565  Average listal rating (317 ratings) 7.8  IMDB Rating
22. Devil May Cry - PlayStation 2
Demon

He's your standard evil creature from hell, meaning just like anyone else he'll always remember where he was when Donald Trump announced he wouldn't be running for president in the 2012 election.

Main Attack: Slaps the enemy and sends a shockwave as a projectile
Special Attack: Spits fireballs at the enemy
Recovery: Flies as is his due

Castlevania Judgment should have been 2D. A two dimensional Castlevania fighter has long been on my wishlist. And Castlevania in 3D isn't usually the most solid foundation for a game.

So here are my ideas. Suggestions welcome! =]
