The Riddler has been portrayed as a clown for way too long. I think the role needs an actor, who can convince the audience of his superior intellect. And if someone can do it, it's Daniel Day Lewis.
He did such an awesome job in Sin City and The Wrestler and I'm sure he could give the character some real depth.
.. And I'm going to say this with love, because I adore Mickey Rourke.
But he already looks like his face is made out of clay.
They probably would have to put him on steroids, though. :)
Or at least he could provide the voice. I think I'm not the only on, who feels that Bane deserves a redemption after the bastardization of the character in Batman & Robin.
There have been rumours about him being cast - and I truly think that would be awesome. I've always thought of The Penguin as one of the lamest Batman villains (he isn't even insane, for god's sake), but Hoffman could probably make him more interesting.
Another character in desperate need of redemption after the Schwarzenegger fiasco. Ed Harris is a great actor, who has a natural coldness in him. Maybe it's he's eyes.
Being a huge fan of the Batman comics, I like to fantasize about these things.
The majority on the villains is still lacking from the list, but I'm trying to fill them in at some point.
Suggestion are appreciated! :)
(Especially for the Black Mask)
I liked and agree with all segestions but one, the Catwoman. Give me a Charlize Theron, Uma Thurman or even Malin Akerman for Catwoman. Uma Thurman has a natural agressiveness in her and a stunning original look.
No offence Veed, but those are some rank suggestions. All far too sterile, and not nearly edgy enough to play a proper villain in Nolan's Batman.
Someone like Danzel Washinton or Viggo Mortenson playing a bad guy would be pretty rad imo. Especially the latter. I'm not sure who they could play though.
el_raulo: Speaking of the accent, Marion could make an awesome Talia al Ghul as well!
veel: I absolutely love Uma, but I feel like she already had her shot at Batman & Robin. It would be kind of weird to cast the same people all over again.
berbuck: I was thinking about Viggo as well! I'd love to see him in a Batman film (maybe as Deadshot?). Joaquin Phoenix would make a great villain too.
Veel: I personally don´t agree with those suggestions. I think catwoman should be more exotic, like Marion Cotillard, Eva Green or even Milla Jovovich, who already has those big feline eyes and an athletic body =)
Probably Ali Larter is the only blonde I would accept as Catwoman
Eva Green y Rachel Weisz me parecen buenas opciones, en especial por la personalidad que proyectan sus rostros. La idea de Daniel Day Lewis como Riddler me parece interesante.
I think Christina Ricci for poison Ivy........ .... .. ... .. .And NOT daniel day lewis for the riddler: I would say Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Johnny Depp........Or even Robert Downey Jr.....
Great list though
I've always wanted Brittany Murphy as Harley Quinn (but a Harley Quinn for Heath Ledger's Joker). I think would be great. It's really sad to know Heath and Brittany cannot do it anymore :(
oliver: Ugh, not lovin' it. In my honest opinion Anne Hathaway can't act her way out of a plastic bag. (She can't be worse than Katie Holmes was in Batman Begins, though.)
But I bet Tom Hardy will make a great Bane!
@ranna, totally agree with your comment. Tom Hardy is a cool choice but I'm not convinced at all by Anne Hathaway... Is is really the best girl that Nolan could find for this part ?!? I don't think she is edgy enough for this. The best suggestion on list was Marion Cottilard.
I'm also one who would have liked to see Charlize Theron as Catwoman, especially since she reminds me of Pfeiffer, but I'm sure Hathaway will be awesome :)
Totally agree! I've never thought of HOffman as The penguin before, but now I completely understand:). Eva Green would look great in the part too. And I wish Rachel Weisz was younger.
great choices.
still, i think hathaway's catwoman was awesome too(very similar to the way the character was portrayed in the comics, with her own style, but that's just my opinio
She's one of those rare Holliwood actresses, who are both insanely beautiful and talented.

Great list though
I especially love him in the Knightfall series

@dan: Joseph Gordon Levitt is a bit more Alberto Falcone than Riddler...
