3. The Paper (1994)
Henry Hackett is a metro editor for the struggling New York Sun. Hackett is being wooed by the Sentinel, a more upscale paper, but he's addicted to the adrenaline-stimulating, breakneck pace of the Sun's newsroom, much to the consternation of his pregnant wife Martha. Hackett is currently pursuing a story of two minority youths who have been arrested for the murders of two men. He learns that the police think that the killings may be a mob hit. In the court of public opinion, however, the innocent suspects are being judged as guilty, and the police may bow to the pressure. As Hackett and his staff desperately work all the story's angles to find the truth, several other dramas unfold. Top editor Bernie learns that he has prostate cancer, and tough publisher Alicia wonders if her lack of popularity is due to her cost-cutting, her personality, or the fact that she's a woman.

- This movie is considered one of the bests about journalist, especially because it isn't about someone writing about another person, with who he will magically fall in love later. Also, it clearly shows one day in a life of a serious journalist. Fell the tension!

"Journalism is the field concerned with producing news reports and editorials through various forms of media including newspapers, magazines, radio and television, and the Internet. Journalists—be they writers, editors or photographers; broadcast presenters or producers—serve as the chief purveyors of information and opinion in contemporary mass society. 'News is what the consensus of journalists determines it to be.'"

Here are some movies in which major characters are agents of news, living it rough, drinking coke at 7 am, barely sleeping, crazy about the others! After all, you can't just ignore the best profession in the world (Gabriel Garcia Marquez said that, not me!)

PS: I KNOW there are a thousand others, but here are the ones I've watched, or, at least, the ones I remember I did. Problaby this will grow forever. But comments with suggestions are ALWAYS welcome.

http://www.listal.com/movie/mad-city-1997

o que mais faz lembrar este filme: http://www.listal.com/movie/wag-the-dog-1997 Que não é sobre o jornalismo em si, mas sobre o poder da midia para manipular as pessoas.
Posted: 5 years ago at Apr 2 4:36
Wag the dog que adora a historia e achei fabulosamente genial, tinha um problema pq achava que ele foi mal feito pq o boom-microfone aparecia todaaa hora.. e agora sei que não era culpa deles.. Agora é um filme perfeito *_*
