Book one in the Age of the Five trilogy. Not quite your typical fantasy (as in dwarves, dragons and elves) but still with Gods, magical beings and odd animals.
Plus it has maps. Always a bonus Raven's rating:
Book two in the Age of the Five trilogy
Raven's rating:
Book three in the Age of the Five trilogy
Raven's rating:
Book one in the Alcheymyst series. This is a young adult fantasy set in modern times following two teenage twins and their discovery of a magical world that is part of every day life just hidden. It's told in a day by day format. Think 24 but in written form.
Raven's rating:
Book two in the Alcheymyst series and pending release June 2008
Raven's rating:
Book one in the Avalon series, Mists of Avalon is an Arthurian fantasy told from the perspective of female characters and Avalon.
Originally written as a stand alone novel it was later expanded into a series. Raven's rating:
Also known as the Forest House is the second book in the Avalon series and also the prequel to The Mists of Avalon
Raven's rating:
The third book in the Avalon series it is also a prequel to The Mists of Avalon
Raven's rating:
Book six in the Avalon series which is then followed by Sword of Avalon which is pending release in 2009
Book one of the Beauty Trilogy. Using Sleeping Beauty as the back drop this is a sado-masochistic erotica beautifully written. Yes I'm bias
Raven's rating:
Book one in the Boudica series. This is a historical fiction following the life of Boudica (also spelt Boudicca) the warrior queen who led an uprising against the Roman Empire occupying Britain.
Raven's rating:
A family saga by Andrews and book one in the Casteel series which starts following the life of a young lass living in poverty and out in the sticks (Aussie speak for a place that's in the country or very lightly populated).
Raven's rating:
The first in the Darkglass Mountain Trilogy (a fantasy) which carries on from The Wayfarer Redemption (or the Axis Series which starts with BattleAxe) and includes characters from Threshold and Beyond The Hanging wall.
The first in the Dollanganger series, it is a saga or better yet a family saga starting with some young ones who go through a traumatic experience and it goes from there.
This book has been banned in certain places because of certain incidents that take place Raven's rating:
Book three in the Dollangager series
Raven's rating:
Book four in the Dollanganger series.
This was also followed by the prequel Garden of Shadows. A book Andrews was working on when she passed away and was then finished by her ghost writer Andrew Neiderman (author of Imp and Devil's Advocate) Raven's rating:
The first in the Enderby Cycle. About a man who writes his stories, poetry while mainly on the loo.
Book one in the Dreamers series. This is a fantasy series I haven't read it yet. I'll leave more info when I have.
Book one in the Harry Potter series. If you don't know about Harry Potter yet then I have no idea where you have been.
A young adult fantasy set in Britain about a young lad who finds out one day that he is a wizard. The series mostly takes place in a school with lots of magic, some dragons, strange animals and some mystery. Raven's rating:
Book two in the Harry Potter series
Raven's rating:
Book three in the Harry Potter series
Raven's rating:
Book four in the Harry Potter series
Raven's rating:
Book five in the Harry Potter series
Raven's rating:
Book 6 in the Harry Potter series
Raven's rating:
Book seven and the final in the Harry Potter series
Raven's rating:
A young adult fantasy this is book one in His Dark Materials trilogy following the character Lyra while she embarks on an adventure. A fantasy with witches, talking polar bears, personal demons and Dust.
This was made into the movie The Golden Compass Raven's rating:
Book two in His Dark Materials trilogy
Raven's rating:
Book three in His Dark Materials.
This is then followed by a short story published in 2003 titled Lyra's Oxford and then followed by The Book of Dust which is yet to be published Raven's rating:
The beginning of the Demon Child Trilogy and the Hythrun Chronicles. A fantasy series that involves Gods, atheists and magical beings.
With maps Raven's rating:
Book 2 of the Demon Child trilogy and Hythrun Chronicles
Raven's rating:
Book 3 of the Demon Child Trilogy and Hythrun Chronicles.
This is then followed by the Wolfblade trilogy Raven's rating:
First book in the Wolfblade series but fourth in the Hythrun Chronicles this could be read as a stand alone trilogy but also as the prequel to the Demon Child Trilogy.
Not your typical fantasy as there are no elves, dwarves and it's not overly "magical". it follows the life of Marla Wolfblade and involves more politics and deception but with hints of magic (there are Gods and magical beings). And there are maps. Raven's rating:
Book two in the Wolfblade trilogy and book five in the Hythrun Chronicles this is slightly different to the first with more characters added and now following the life of Marla Wolfblade and her son.
Raven's rating:
Book three in the Wolfblade trilogy and the final book in the Hythrun Chronicles.
Raven's rating:
