ghostgirl - Tonya Hurley
Apparently, it's being directed by Matthew Vaughn, who also directed the movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Stardust. If he does as well on this as he did on Stardust, I have high hopes for this movie.

The Adventures of Captain Underpants - Dav Pilkey
I saw on some online list of upcoming movie adaptations of books that this would be one of them, as a CG animated movie.
I have two questions about this:
1) How would they include elements like the Flip-O-Rama sections?
2) Why now? I mean, I'm pretty sure the Captain Underpants craze ended ages ago, when the original young fanbase started to grow out of that kind of immature humor.

Tomorrow, When the War Began (The Tomorrow Series #1)... - John Marsden_VII
The good news is, it was released in 2010, and it features two of my favorite actresses, Rachel Hurd-Wood and Phoebe Tonkin.
The bad news is, I've only seen the DVD regionally available in Australia, which means I can't watch it here in the US.

A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray
Possibly to be released in 2015, but still is supposedly in development. Currently unlikely.

The Looking Glass Wars - Frank Beddor
In development, but was delayed due to Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland." Current status is unknown.

The 2007 re-release (also known as "Blink") alluded to a movie in development, but I've found no IMDB page for the movie.

The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, Book 3) - Dan Brown_II
There've been rumors of a film version of this third book in the Robert Langdon series. As of yet, actual production seems iffy, since "Angels and Demons" seriously didn't do as well at the box office as "The Da Vinci Code."

Artemis Fowl (Artemis Fowl, Book 1) - Eoin Colfer
Oh, wow. The movie version of this has been in development hell for so long that I actually forgot that they were even considering it.

Movies I want to see, based on books, that have been in and out of development hell, or have been cancelled.

I hope they do Ender's Game justice, it's one of my all-time favorite books.

I agree about Ender's Game being a great book that I hope is also a great movie.

I can't wait to see Odd Thomas and I truly hope Looking Glass Wars finds it's way to the screen. :)
