Looks like to follow in the shades of "Contact" but with a better delivery no doubt seeing as Nolan is behind it. Anybody notice how particular rivals always seem to come in clusters? Like Scorsese and Eastwood a few years back, nowadays it's the trio of Nolan, Aronofsky, and Fincher.
I haven't seen the new trailer yet but I have little doubt whether it has enough pull to win or not this is gonna be the DEFINING FILM or the year, if no the one to mark the whole decade!!!...
102 8.9 93. Boyhood (2014)
Read the synopsis and looks like the making of story might be more appealing than the actual film itself. Here we have an estimated 2 and a half hour visual scrapbook, watching a child actor -and thus the veterans that surround him- grow up before our very eyes. This is filmmaking that has never been attempted before, or at least achieved, and I think that's something to think about in the long run - in terms of deciding what's the best of the year and what actually has longevity in terms of our collective conscious...
17 0 74. The Homesman (2014)
27 0 05. Unbroken (2014)
America LOVES their sentimental distractions. And this looks like a nice one. Set to come out around Christmas time. What a nice, warm cozy picture to settle into - to make Americans forget about the loss of basic civil liberties, starving third world countries. The epidemic of 'white supremacy' in modern culture. Or any of the potential global disasters that may be occurring at the time of this film's release?...
16 9 06. Kill the Messenger (2014)
This is the one "I'm" most excited to see. Based on the ALL TOO TRUE story of the CIA's illegal involvement of narcotics and backdoor arms dealing in the Iran-Contra affair. I wonder how much of the TRUTH is actually gonna be IN this movie.
How much, will no doubt determine how much the Academy loves it this year of that I have no doubt. Baaaaa...goes the sheeple!
617 8.1 8.27. The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
Just recently saw this. It's so delightfully cheeky. Very well written, but I almost get the impression too well written. The film might have more confidence in itself than is really necessary. "Moonrise Kingdom" seemed a little more relaxed, in the moment, and genuine.
I liked it though. No doubt due to Ralph Fiennes's BRILLIANT performance!!!...
83 0 08. Gone Girl (2014)

MASS Princess Programming right on cue. What is Disney's obsession - or for that matter what is the obsession of the public?
I have no doubt (since it's been hyped so bad) that it will mostly likely no doubt get the Big Nominations. I just personally don't feel all that enthusiastic to see it. *gag*
Films that are either lacking a trailer or don't sound appetizing. I significantly 'doubt' their chances - to clarify, only for professional reasons. My personal taste is ALWAYS likely to differ from what the Academy swallows every year *sigh*...
