Best Personal Gaming Moments
Just having owned this game is memories in and of itself. However, I remember getting it with our Nintendo that my Grandma bought for me and my older brother. I actually didn't want to play Mario at all, I would ask my brother to play so I could just sit and watch. Now I'm the gamer, go figure.

My friend Ben and I wanted so bad to beat this game without the cheat code (heck we didn't even know it at the time). When we finally did beat the game we chalked it up to the good luck bestowed on us from my little Michelangelo marble I brought with me to his house this time. Good luck Mikey.

I remember finding this arcade cabinet in some small backwater town and immediately falling in love with it's simplicity and it's challenge. When I found it at my local rental store I was even more stoked.

When I was like 7 or so my babysitter brought his SNES over with this game. Yeah, he was the cool babysitter, he also brought over his gameboy, Star Wars toys, and the Princess Bride. Anyway, we played the heck out of this game whenever he brought it over.

All I remember is my friend Aaron and I literally working together on 150cc so that at least one of us could get the gold trophy. We worked really well together, taking out 2nd place CPU's on 1st places tail. By the 4th race whoever wasn't going for gold gunned for whichever CPU was closest in score. There's something satisfying about making Donkey Kong Jr. get 8th on the last race after getting 2nd every time.

I was only able to do it once, but blowing up a Super Star Destroyer is possibly the most satisfying thing I've ever done in gaming. What have you done today?!?

My only good memories of middle school are this game. I bought this game on a whim, I'd never heard of it, I just bought it cuz it was Star Wars. My life is forever changed. Get home from school, play this game on the MSN Gaming Zone, kick butt.

More-so the demo than the actual game. My friend Jake got the demo from like Pizza Hut or something before the game was even out. We stayed up till 2am playing just the first level, with just the two characters, listening to the same Goldfinger song. Oh and the pizza was good too.

We had to install a "3d accelerator" card in our computer just to get this game to work. It wasn't an XvT killer, but it sure was pretty to watch.

This is the Mario Kart I spent the most time playing. It will always be a favorite. I specifically remember the first time I hopped the wall in Wario's level, my friends were so pissed. Too many late nights playing with friends at sleepovers and such.

Speaking of late nights and sleepovers, this is the original party game. I do remember staying up with just my friend Jake doing 2v2 team against the CPU and doing 99 stock battle, it took a lot longer than we thought it would.

The reason I bought a Ps2 was really for this game. I still remember playing it for a couple hours at my friend Nick's house and then when I left, I started speeding without really noticing. Luckily I didn't get caught going like 70 in I think 30mph or that would have been bad.

My first DDR game, when I was still learning I was at the arcade with my friend Ben and some little mexican kid came up and wanted to battle me. I mean this kid was like 5 and was talking trash before we even started playing, I don't know what his deal was. Anyway, we were about even on songs on medium (dunno how you trash talk and then only choose medium and not hard but whatever). Then the final song he picks Afronova (a really hard/fast song) and we both lose, then he starts yelling at me for sucking and screwing it up. Well my friend Ben had enough of that, so he stepped up (mind you Ben is over 6 feet tall) and just got in this kid's face and told him to shut up and play. Ben chose his best song, Holic, on expert while the kid failed it on medium. Probably the funniest thing was Ben yelling at the kid for losing after that.

College. While the Xboxers had their Halo, my friends and I were perfecting our wicked-fast precision shooter skills on this crazy fast excuse for a game. Yelling "MONKEYS WITH PLASMA RIFLES!" became an inside joke with the guys on my dorm floor.

After college I moved in with my friend George who finally got me to play Melee. One night we had some friends over and the four of us were making so much noise having so much fun playing our apartment manager came over and told us to keep it down, people were complaining and even she could hear us.

Beating "Through The Fire And The Flames" on Hard (not expert mind you, but still). I've been able to do it twice but I've never been able to step up to Expert.
Sabin Kenobi's rating:
When I bought this game I sat and played through the whole thing, it's exhilarating and relaxing, I absolutely loved it.

Going to the store to buy this Hero Edition is one memory. Beating the game (good side) for the first time is so epic my hands were shaking. I've never played a game that brought tears to my eyes but this one came the closest.
