Revelation 21: And God wiped away the tears from his eyes, so the new Messiah could see out to the new Jerusalem. His name was Officer Roland Taverner, of Hermosa Beach, California. My best friend. He is a pimp. And pimps don't commit suicide.
You know when I said I knew little about love? That wasn't true. I know a lot about love. I've seen it, centuries and centuries of it, and it was the only thing that made watching your world bearable. All those wars. Pain, lies, hate... It made me want to turn away and never look down again. But when I see the way that mankind loves... You could search to the furthest reaches of the universe and never find anything more beautiful. So yes, I know that love is unconditional. But I also know that it can be unpredictable, unexpected, uncontrollable, unbearable and strangely easy to mistake for loathing...
Similar to Funny Games and The Strangers in many respects, and yet the suspense is just as well-done as the aforementioned films. When I'm put on edge by a movie in my own home, I've gotta give it respect.
Top films listed in the order I like them, though repeat viewings could potentially rearrange said order. And of course the order could be further altered once I watch the "Unwatched contenders".
Runners-up and Unwatched contenders listed alphabetically.
Hmm, didn't care much for There Will be Blood, despite having really enjoyed PT Anderson's previous films.
And for some reason in my wierd little mind I dismissed 3:10 as a poor man's No Country. Looks like maybe I'll have to get over that admittedly ill-conceived assumption and see what it's really all about.
And can you believe I've yet to watch any of the Bourne movies? Where have I been?
Another nice mix though. Glad you found joy in Superbad!
What a list! There are more than 50 movies here...
Honestly, I liked the Bourne ultimatum but it is so overrated... My favorite remains The Bourne Identity, after that, Jason Bourne just becomes one of those invincible action heros I have seen 100 times.
I think you're the first person I meet who actually enjoyed Southland Tales. I haven't seen it but it is very much hated.
Thumbs up for There Will Be Blood! Even though I personally preferred The Assassination of Jesse James.... Didn't care to much about Death Proof, but loved Planet Terror!

Persepolis and [REC] should definitely be in there
