The night before I was born, my parents attended a screening of Close Encounters with another couple they were friends with. My mom got tired of sitting there halfway through it, so her & my dad went to stand at the back of the theatre for the remainder of the film. After they got home their friends called them on the phone...they'd been trying to reach my parents because they thought maybe my mom had gone into labor.

Later on, my dad sat me down to watch this with him & I've loved it ever since.
