Still not as great as the original three, this "final" Star Wars film answered all of our questions and the last half hour is one of the best in all the Star Wars films. I still think they're going to make more.
Stehako's rating:
Possibly the funniest film of the decade. An amazing mix of scripted content and improvisations. Three of the funniest guys in the business along with a superb supporting cast that makes the movie complete.
Stehako's rating:
A true epic that is both well-crafted and lasting. Jack Black does an excellent job in non-type role and Naomi Watts has never looked so good.
Stehako's rating:
This would be the funniest film in most years. Apatow's directorial debut will start and re-start the careers of everyone in it. Near perfect writing.
Stehako's rating:
The darkest comic book film I've seen and it's execution is magnificent. Liam Neeson's best supporting role and a film that will make Christian Bale a megastar. The story is the best in the Batman series, the name... is probably the worst.
Stehako's rating:
Like the previous two comedies, I could watch this one over and over again. It's the only thing I've liked Jimmy Fallon in. It's the perfect role for him and he makes Drew Barrymore even more adorable looking. The Farrelly brothers are unstoppable.
Stehako's rating:
Vengeance at its best. Great story, acting, and direction. Like the Farrallys, Spielberg never fails.
Stehako's rating:
One of the best ensemble casts ever and an innovative style that will surely be copied many times in the future.
Stehako's rating:
Fantastic editing in this multi-story film based in the racially upset city of Los Angeles. It manages to get the viewer really into each story within seconds.
Stehako's rating:
Sharp, witty, carousing, bad, intense, and careless. Downey Jr and Kilmer are a flippin' great team and I would love to see both of them more often, on screen. Give these guys some more work!
Stehako's rating:
Joaquin's career-peaking role. I'm not saying he should give up, but he don't do any better... and this may pertain to Reese Witherspoon as well.
Stehako's rating:
Will Smith is once again very likable, but finally in a comedy again. Kevin James shows he can do well on the silver screen, too. I might have fallen in love with Eva Mendes, too.
Stehako's rating:
Another great leading-man performance by Crowe, another great supporting-role performance by Giamatti, and another over-acting annoying performance by Zellweger. Any movie would be better without her (except Jerry Maguire and Chicago).
Stehako's rating:
I have never been entranced by colors in a non-Burton film. They are as interesting as its unusual characters. Another great teaming, with Brosnan and Kinnear.
Stehako's rating:
Intelligent, depressing writing about intelligent, depressing people. A nice pace with a great title-revealing ending.
Stehako's rating:
The best of the Harry Potter films, so far. It's got fighting, dancing, games, kissing, and the bad dude finally shows up.
Stehako's rating:
The guy who played the blind man in 'Sneakers' is flawless in this simple retro film about Murrow. The opening credits made you really feel like you were living it up back in the day.
Stehako's rating:
Not nearly as good as 'Willy Wonka', but truer to the book and a perfect palette for Burton's style of film making.
Stehako's rating:
Like 'Sith', the last half hour of this film is amazing. Viggo is bad-ass and William Hurt makes up for all the bad roles he's recently done.
Stehako's rating:
Meirelles follow-up to the amazing 'City of God', is respectable and could grow on me, as 'City' did.
Stehako's rating:
Well-crafted, well-executed and innovative film making.
Stehako's rating:
Woody Allen is finally back with an entertaining film with one of my favorite actresses in very recent years, Scarlet Jo.
Stehako's rating:
A film I think I would have loved if I were ten years younger. I still enjoyed this epic and hope the sequels are even better (as I'm told the books are).
Stehako's rating:
Emile Hirsch and Heath Ledgar are among a great, young and hip cast about the origins of trick skateboarding.
Stehako's rating:
Boyle has done yet another different type of film and has once again succeeded. A sweet tail about young brothers who find money and believe it's from higher beings.
Stehako's rating:
Stoned or not, British or not, this film is a riot and translates well into film.
Stehako's rating:
A slow-moving yet intense documentary on wheel-chair rugby. There is no murdering only dreams, fulfilled and crushed.
Stehako's rating:
Probably Carrey's worst comedy; but still quite funny and he still quite good in it. The one problem was the writing, it just wasn't hilarious, like I expect with Jim Carrey. Balwin proves, once again, to be a great supporting actor.
Stehako's rating:
Gandolfini in a musical?? What?? This movie was so frighteningly weird I ended up thoroughly enjoying it.
Stehako's rating:
Okay, maybe Spielberg isn't perfect, and apparently neither is Tom Cruise. The first half of this film was good and then I just didn't give a shit what happened to either world.
Stehako's rating:
Anyone in business school or documentary film-making school needs to see this.
The hardest working woman in the last two years stars in another entertaining film. It's typical Craven, but I actually wanted to watch the whole thing.
Stehako's rating:
I'm not sure what all the craze was about, I mean I love penguins and Freeman's voice, but... yeah that's probably what it was.
Stehako's rating:
Shia, you will be a star some day. Likable in every way. Disney at its most basic.
Stehako's rating:
Let's pick up the pace a little here, Jarmusch. You wrote a great script, one that could have put you in the top 25, but I feel like it could have been done in an hour. Thanks for the random nudity, though.
Stehako's rating:
Neeson scores again! Too bad his brilliance is trapped in this no-direction-home film. Bloom needs to do more... anything but acting.
Stehako's rating:
The starts off with a great credit sequence but then Cage talks way too much. But it was still a good film.
Stehako's rating:
A fun romance that improves my image of both Kutcher and Peet. I don't understand why more people didn't go see it.
A movie I could have running in the background of my home every day.
Good music, bad acting, and no Stevie Wonder. One out of three ain't bad.
Stehako's rating:
Not their best work, but as always, quite entertaining.
Stehako's rating:
Not as funny as Silverman, and too many gross jokes/things that didn't add any humor to the film.
Stehako's rating:
Vince Vaughn makes this movie. Oh yeah, Pitt and Jolie are entertaining as well.
Stehako's rating:
Without Ditka and the coffee house scene, this film might not even be in the top 75.
Stehako's rating:
Yeah, they're gay. Hathaway and Williams get topless in a gay film, that's what saved it. Also pretty damn good cinematography.

I agree, this was not a great year, but good list with what was offered. Geisha should be higher, but not bad sir.

The top ten is one of the most solid of the decade; but overall, not a very good year for films. I only saw 104 film, just so I could make this list. The four extra were so unlikable I couldn't possibly put them on this list.
