One of the best biopics of all time. Scorsese's attention to detail is unmatched and DiCaprio perfectionism is clear. The supporting cast couldn't be better with Alan Alda, Cate Blanchett, John C. Reilly, Alec Baldwin, Kate Beckinsale and enjoyable small roles for Adam Scott, Jude Law and Gwen Stefani.
Stehako's rating:
Pure comedy in this clearly inexpensive film about sexism during the glory years of TV journalism. Another solid cast of today's best comedians.
Stehako's rating:
A dynamite duo in Stiller and Wilson. They play off each other perfectly. Vaughn is a brilliant villain, along with yet another great supporting cast.
Stehako's rating:
We're 4-for-4 on stellar casts in this list. This a well-edited mind-trip of a film that makes you want to watch over and over, knowing you'll see something different each time.
Stehako's rating:
One of the funnier Adam Sandler movies, and his best since the last time he paired up with Barrymore.
Stehako's rating:
When I lived a couple of hours from the Santa Ynez Valley, I made it a point to go up there and bask in the glory that is wine country often; and since this film was released I can't help but watch it after each trip I make.
Stehako's rating:
My least favorite Pixar movie; but that doesn't mean I don't frickin' love it.
Stehako's rating:
In time, this could be funnier than the original. Dustin Hoffman certainly adds a lot; but I would have liked more Owen Wilson.
Stehako's rating:
A film that could have easily been a disaster if Hanks wasn't the lead. The guy is pure entertainment.
Stehako's rating:
A cult favorite among my college friends. A movie that gets funnier every time you see it. And it's funny for various reasons, it depends on who you're watching it with.
Stehako's rating:
Not only was this better than the first; but it made the first even better. I can't wait for the third one!
Stehako's rating:
Much better than the first. Could there be competition for Pixar? Audiences obviously think so with its enormous box-office gross.
Stehako's rating:
A beautiful musical that succeeded in not ruining the stage version.
Stehako's rating:
Cheadle needs to be making more movies. Finally he's in a lead role that proves he's got what it takes to do more.
Stehako's rating:
This is clearly Stiller's year. I don't know who's the better villain, Vaughn (Starsky & Hutch with Stiller the protagonist), or Stiller (Dodgeball, where Vaughn is the protagonist). Great cameos from Chuck Norris and Lance Armstrong.
Stehako's rating:
What an enjoyable documentary! Morgan Spurlock is the Michael Moore, only I don't think I'm going to hate him.
Stehako's rating:
A true epic. Yeah, a few flaws here and there, but entertaining throughout. And wow, Diane Kruger is certainly worth starting a war for!
Stehako's rating:
Surprisingly different than the first, which I respect and enjoyed; but it still wasn't as entertaining.
Stehako's rating:
The origin movie was good, this was much better.
Stehako's rating:
My God, was Stiller saving up all his good stuff for 2004? Hoffman played one of the funnier roles of the year, and I still like Pizza.
Stehako's rating:
A moving epic that was well-acted, filled with beautiful cinematography, and it was a great story. If only it were in English, then people might go see it... and they probably could have picked a better title. Long and Foreign is not a good combo for the American public.
Stehako's rating:
A typical Disney sports movie, but there's nothing wrong with that.
Stehako's rating:
Wow, Elisha Cuthbert is unbelievable in this! That is all.
Stehako's rating:
A wonderful remake (still not as good as the original) with one of the best actors of our time (and a little better than Sinatra)
Stehako's rating:
A glorious sequel. They could not have done any better. Satisfying in every way.
Stehako's rating:
Will Smith + future + action = damn good entertainment.
Stehako's rating:
Zemeckis is clearly continuing to prove he's still a genius. A revolutionary film that epically captures the short-winded book.
Stehako's rating:
The series continues to get better. I'm beginning to understand the craze, but I can't say I'm a huge fan yet.
Stehako's rating:
Spacey is delightful and Bosworth is so damn cute. Like the Aviator, it makes me want to go back in time.
Stehako's rating:
A finely tuned weird-as-shit movie that almost seems to make sense by the end. I love these kinds of movies.
Stehako's rating:
A very accurate and well-done performance by Foxx; but overall just a pretty good biopic. I felt it was too short, I want more dammit!
Stehako's rating:
I knew what to expect for the second one; but I was wrong. Because of this people seemed to not like it; but as a film, it was still pretty damn good.
Stehako's rating:
Swank is the woman! She's actually bad-ass and isn't afraid to be manly, something pretty actresses try and usually fail at. Eastwood's direction is notable and Freeman does a fine job as usual.
Stehako's rating:
My new favorite song by Simon and Garfunkel: "The Only Living Boy in New York". You can say that about a lot of the well-placed songs in this dialogue-driven beauty from Zach Braff.
Stehako's rating:
Parker and Stone are unbelievable and unstoppable. The best marionette movie of all time (if you don't count Pinocchio )
Stehako's rating:
A wonderful road trip movie through South America. Adventurous, sad and inspiring.
Stehako's rating:
Scarlett Johansson has won my heart after this film. Topher Grace gives me reason to believe he'll do well on the big-screen. He's very likable and relatable.
Stehako's rating:
Yeah, stoner comedies are fun man.
Stehako's rating:
An intensely colorful film with very memorable fight scenes.
Stehako's rating:
This could be only time Hanks teams up with the Coens; but I think it was a winning combination. It's a feel that needs to be seen more than once (as with every Coen Brothers films) to really enjoy it.
Stehako's rating:
When not expecting much, this movie is quite fun and funny.
Stehako's rating:
Like Hero, very colorful, great fight scenes and cinematography.
Stehako's rating:
A disappointment; but still quarky and fun. Sadly no topless Peet.
Stehako's rating:
I was paging through the channels when I came upon this film and didn't what the hell I was watching but became very intrigued and mystified. I still don't know what to think, maybe it'll rank higher once I do.
Stehako's rating:
Scavenger hunts have never been so entertaining. What's this? Oh cool, oh but then we have to figure this out. Great we found it, oh but then we have to find this in order to find that, then once we find that then we'll have to do this to get to that which will be bring us to another thing that will ask us to figure out where what we think is one last thing but will only lead us to another item that will force us to ask why this is that and that is this which is why we must find that... or this. And that's just the half of it.
Stehako's rating:
An intriguing idea filled with great actors playing interesting characters. But in the end, I didn't like any of them and didn't care if they were happy.
Stehako's rating:
The 'perfect' title for this movie. A typical MTV flick that 'scores'
