Immediately one of my favorite films of all time. Epic, tough, beautiful, violent, and glorious. Superb acting, writing and cinematography.
Stehako's rating:
A perfect cast of somewhat-known actors in this hilarious race against time.
Stehako's rating:
Washington is great, as is his supporting cast (for what type of movie this is) in a good-hearted look at racism in schools and sports.
Stehako's rating:
Cameron Crowe has created a fantastic film for people of any generation, as long as they love music and brilliant writing.
Stehako's rating:
A wild comedy from my favorite comedy directors/writers (Farrelly Brothers) and my favorite comedic actor (Jim Carrey). It's the second time they've collaborated (First was 'Dumb and Dumber') and while it's not as funny as their first attempt it is still comic gold. Best fight scene ever.
Stehako's rating:
This is how I picture Ben Stiller to be in real life... and DeNiro, if he were a father - is he? Owen Wilson gives us the funniest scenes with his small but genuine part.
Stehako's rating:
A movie that managed to get me more and more pissed off as I watched it. I've now seen it twice and I still hold those same feelings. But in the end I leave satisfied from seeing a really well put-together film. Ledger's best role yet.
Stehako's rating:
It's a good thing everyone loves Tom Hanks because this film is filled him and mainly just him. I thought he did an outstanding the job; but the blatant and over-used product placements of FedEx and Wilson made me a little nauseous.
Stehako's rating:
Carrey portrayed The Grinch gloriously. Ron Howard's film has all the nice things you like to see in a Christmas film and much more. It's a film I could see watching on a nearly annual basis.
Stehako's rating:
Boyle's new film could be his best, but with lots of help from DiCaprio. He does a great job with narration and he got really into his character. I love the mix of fantastical scenes and brutally real scenes.
Stehako's rating:
The funniest spoof movie since Austin Powers (okay, it's not saying much). There were plenty of overly-stupid scenes but a lot of funny lines from everyone in the cast, especially Cheri Oteri.
Stehako's rating:
Powerful film making. It's so good that you can't help but deny this stuff really goes on because at least one story line in this hits too close to home for anybody.
Stehako's rating:
Matt Perry is the funniest character on 'Friends' and proves in this film he can be funny in other venues. He does some great phsycial comedy, too. Willis is delightful and Amanda Peet is hot.
Stehako's rating:
A very weird but intoxicating movie about some Irish vigilantes in Boston. Willem Defoe's best role in a long time.
Stehako's rating:
A mind bender. Visually intriguing and uniquely paced. I would have preferred a better ending, however.
Stehako's rating:
What the hell did, well anyone, say? Pitt is continuing to get some great roles and Guy Ritchie's style has sure grown on me.
Stehako's rating:
The movie that could bring mixed tapes back! Probably not, but Cusack and Black are great in this small music film.
Stehako's rating:
A messed up movie that left me wanting more. I couldn't believe what I was watching, pretty much in every scene. I'm not educated on the many shades of white and some great albums that I really should pick up.
Stehako's rating:
Not a bad comic book movie at all. I hear they are coming out with a second one and I am looking forward to it quite a bit already.
Stehako's rating:
Second best fight scene of the year. Two old guys going at it and lots of misinterpretations. Nothing too outstanding but an entertaining film.
Stehako's rating:
It's true, this is Julia Roberts' best role; but I've never really been too impressed with her.
Stehako's rating:
I love these types of "butterfly effect" films, and this one is modest in most ways and does a really good job of creating characters you can care about, overshadowing the "high concept", which is something most movies fail to do.
Stehako's rating:
Actually, this one is pretty similar to 'Frequency' but is more of a teen flick and we're killing a lot more people here.
Stehako's rating:
Oooh, it's a lady. Meadows is very funny in this SNL sketch film.
Stehako's rating:
Whenever either Wilson or Chan team up with someone we get good results and this is one of their better results. Nothing too original but just a lot of entertaining scenes filled with comedy and action.
Stehako's rating:
I tried the experiment and I still don't know. I guess it doesn't work every time. This is a fun "what if" movie but drags just slightly towards the end, once all the fun is gone.
Stehako's rating:
A great trio of actors. I wish my church services were that entertaining.
Stehako's rating:
Guest comes out with another winner in his signature mockumentary style films.
Stehako's rating:
Will Smith's least-attended, but still entertaining film. I thought it could have been "bigger", many scenes felt rushed.
Stehako's rating:
I don't know why this specific kung-fu style film has so much American appeal; but like the ones in the past, I enjoyed it. Some wild fight scenes and great cinematography... maybe it's the title?
Stehako's rating:
Bardem is excellent in this foreign film that probably will continue to go unnoticed by the American public.
I get confused between this and 'Red Planet'; but I'm pretty sure this is the better one.
Elizabeth Hurley is the perfect woman; so I guess that makes sense why she would be the devil. Frasier is dopey and slightly entertaining as usual. My favorite part is all the hot outfits Hurley wears.
Stehako's rating:
The one thing Bedazzled didn't have was nudity... but this nudity isn't the good kind. I think Winslet has a 'must be nude' clause in her contracts.
Stehako's rating:
A cool film that sports a unique side to illegal trading. The cast is filled up with all young and rising stars that I'm sure will be household names in the next couple of years.
Stehako's rating:
Douglas had a good year with his two movies (the other 'Traffic') but this is definitely his better role.
This makes you really question the crap that's released in theaters every year. Crazy ending.
Stehako's rating:
I thought it was actually pretty good and I liked the twist at the end. I don't know why so many hated it.
Stehako's rating:
Submarine movie, World War II, blah blah blah. Still pretty decent.
Stehako's rating:
A fun romantic comedy with lovely acting and story. Of course it makes you crave chocolate even more.
Stehako's rating:
Visually entertaining, stylistic war film. I might need to see it again, I fell asleep the first time.
Stehako's rating:
I was disappointed in this film. I would think a movie about Pollock would be crazy and all over the place, just like his art. Two formulaic, but still an interesting story.
Stehako's rating:
Like with the first one, I think I'll need to watch this several times in several states of highness before I can truly enjoy. so far it's a disappointment.
Stehako's rating:
Tom Cruise mugging through a trying solver. Another disappointing film.
Stehako's rating:
Now this one was actually a little better than I expected. It's a good story of two young lovers growing up through high school, college and beyong, surrounded around basketball.
Stehako's rating:
Not as thrilling as we're to believe. Michelle Pfeiffer is still looking great though.
Stehako's rating:
See this movie for dream sequences, otherwise it's not very good. Vince Vaughn is the only thing tolerable outside of them. Lopez should stick to singing.

Starting off the Decade very nicely. If the only film that came out this year was Gladiator, I would have liked it; but there were several great picks this year.
