Nice list, but David Fincher's first film was Alien 3, three years before Seven.

Great list! I would put John Singleton for Boyz n the Hood (1991), John Huston for The Maltese Falcon (1941), Sidney Lumet for 12 Angry Men (1957), Roman Polanski for Knife In the Water (1962) and even Charles Laughton for The Night of the Hunter (1955) just to name a few.

Boyz n the Hood is such a shame because it's such a powerful film and now John Singleton is making crappy action films.
