2. Hombre Lobo - Eels
Had this album been released sooner it would've been the soundtrack for my 20s & up until 2009. I can relate to all the songs far far too well.

9. Power Move - Screaming Females
I read something about Screaming Females on one of the music news sites I frequent & decided to look them up to hear their music. Soon after, I got my hands on Power Move and loved every moment of it. Then I saw them live & they were great.

I still need to pick up their other albums.

12. The Tropic Rot - Poison The Well
Favorite song: "Who Doesn't Love a Good Dismemberment?"
Lyrics:
At one time when the days were nectar sweet I was a lovely boy.
I brought smiles in my bag to pass around to all the unpleasant I passed.
As life walked by.
I noticed it look at me and not once did it stop it's horrible stare.
I made that my occupation, self proclaimed devourer of problems.

It must be a long project to finally bring someone to their knees.
It didn't like me fucking up the balance.
I'm undoing life's work.

Since I never once saw that gaze fade.
My bag became smaller, the unpleasant wouldn't accept my smiles as easily as before.
I think I'm losing my friends.

I noticed it look at me and not once did it stop it's horrible stare.
I made that my occupation, self-proclaimed devourer of problems.

I think I was a lovely boy.
It feels like a million years since I was him.
I noticed it look at me and not once did it stop it's horrible stare.
I made that my occupation, self-proclaimed devourer of problems.

To think those stories were a lie and all he had to do was fix a gaze on me.
To turn it all around.
I think I was a lovely boy.
Let's see if we can't make a lovely lovely man.

Fun fact: I got to see Mastodon play Crack the Skye in its entirety in concert twice in 2009.

YES!! Never Better. The more I listen to it, the more fitting the title seems! Really isn't a track I don't like on that one. Definitely have a spot in my heart for Low Light Low Life. Great song, but especially love that Dessa gets a verse on it. As you're probably familiar, she's one of several emcees that work with Doomtree (along with P.O.S. of course, Sims, Cecil Otter, and maybe a couple others)

She's got her own stuff out there that I've yet to get my hands on, but she kills it with Sims here, check it out:
