Great list and research but isn't To Live (Huozhe) (1994) on your list? It's probably one of the best Chinese movies ever made, at least the best I've seen.

Description
![]() In 2005, to celebrate 100 years of Chinese cinema, the Hong Kong Film Awards chose the best 100 Chinese motion pictures of all time. The movies were selected by a panel of 101 film makers, critics and scholars. It's a real nice list, which includes all kinds of films from classics and art films to popular comedies and action blockbusters. It's very Hong Kong centered (60%) and actually has 103 titles, but I ain't complaining. I'll probably include more detailed descriptions of the films, once I've seen more of them. Be sure to check out all the trailers & clips as well. Notice that #71 of the list is not in the IMDB, so I had to enter it manually between Little Toys & House of 72 Tenants.
