Bands I Have seen live
2012 at Tallin (Õllesummer) 2011 at Hämeenlinna (Wanaja Festival) This had to be one of the most important concerts of my life. Manic Street Preachers is still a great band, known for its strong political themes and lyrics. The gig itself was a perfect blend of old and new. All received certainly what they wanted. In fact I enjoyed the whole show's playlist. Overall, one of the best gigs, ever. To quote James Dean Bradfield: "I think I love you" Tumppi's rating:
2012 at Sonisphere (Kalasatama) 2009 at Sonisphere (Pori) Metallica is one of the biggest bands of my childhood. I was waiting for this gig my whole life. It did not disappoint me. Definitely one of the best gigs, ever. However, I was little disturbed, all the time when James asked does the audience own all of Metallica's CD's. In spite of everything, the music was of iron, and the band gave their best. Tumppi's rating:
2012 at Sonisphere (Kalasatama) Gojira was Metallica with the biggest reason why I was at this festival. Unfortunately, they performed in such an early point. The band, however, pulled the gig in style. The songs were great and the small audience was very included. Tumppi's rating:
2012 at Sonisphere (Kalasatama) I did not see this show from the beginning. The audience, however, was very comfortable, as the band performed so well. 2012 at Tavastia (club) Poets of the Fall is one of Finland's best export products. This band combines many wonderful things. Guitar riffs are catchy, live performance is polished and the lyrics are very deep. Good gig, which was a great pleasure. Tumppi's rating:
2011 at Hämeenlinna (Wanaja Festival) Sometime in 2003, all laughed at to The Darkness. I think the band was already really nice. Falsetto singing is not easy. Also the lyrics and guitar riffs were excellent. Live presence, however, was the best thing about it all. Justin Hawkins continuously jump and dance to the rhythm of each song. As a small bonus, I happened to be in the same spa with the band. But I do not dare to talk to them, because I'm Finnish, but after all it was a unforgettable to be in the same sauna and hot tub with the guys. Tumppi's rating:
2011 at Hämeenlinna (Wanaja Festival) 2005 at Turku (Ruisrock Festival) This Finnish band has a cult status. Their stage show is awesome and the songs are provocative. I did not see much on this presentation, but what I saw, I liked it. Tumppi's rating:
2010 at Helsinki (Hartwall Arena) I saw the same band again in 2010. The show was still good. The new album songs were acting live on stage, and the atmosphere was stunning as minimal. 2005 at Turku (Ruisrock Festival) The main reason why I was the festival in general. Rammstein is the world's best live band. I do not understand many words in German, but it does not matter, because the mood is so good. It was a great gig, and I will never forget it ever again. Lightning struck the sky, and that is why the event started late. But when the presentation began, the entire Ruissalo rumbled Rammstein's rhythm. Tumppi's rating:
2010 at Helsinki (Hartwall Arena), Rammstein's Warrm-up Rammstein of course, was main act, but Combichrist made a big impression on me. The performance was utterly fantastic, and the social critical lyrics hit hard. I listen to the band's music even more. Hopefully, they will become stars. Their sound is so unique and wonderful that they deserve all the praise. Tumppi's rating:
2010 at Helsinki (Hartwall Arena) Oh, fuck! Shitty fuck damn! It was Depeche Mode. Shitty show, where Dave Gahan was tired and his voice was no longer in the best shape. At the same time stage charisma was missing. Martin Gore tried to save the show, but yes, this was the most horrible disappointment for what I experienced at concerts. Tumppi's rating:
2010 at Helsinki (Hartwall Arena), Depeche Mode's Warm-up Depeche Mode's warm-up, time for a cool thing, because I liked this even more than the DM's gig. Which is unusual as far as the Depeche Mode is one of my all time favorites. This band gave their utmost in order to be a good warm-up, they were excellent. Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Helsinki (jäähalli) Another band from my childhood. The Prodigy, however, represents a slightly different music than Metallica. Still, I really liked them a lot of Fat Of The Land album. Which is why I became interested of this gig. It was a pretty good event, where the band played most of the classics and the audience was well with. Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Sonisphere (Pori) Linkin Park is not my favorite band. A few good song. However, Metallica was the main reason why I was at this festival. Linkin Park was a pretty good waiting music. Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Kaapelitehdas Morrissey is great, so maybe that's the reason why this gig wasn't so good. I had too high expectations. In my opion Morrissey didn't give to fans what they wanted. Couple of The Smith songs and First of the Gang to Die. Other songs was more or less something that I haven't listen so much or heard at all. Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Kaapelitehdas, Morrissey's Warm-up Little band called Doll And the Kicks was pretty good. I bought their CD after this. They are like Killers with female vocalist. What an enterteining show. Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Kaisaniemi The motherfucking main event! I love Mike Patton. Also love Fait No More. This must been one of the best gigs I have ever seen. Crowd loved it, I loved it. They played all their greatest songs and more. What more you can ask? Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Kaisaniemi, Faith No More's warm-up Fuck! What a shitty performance this was. CMX is kind of good in it own way. I also liked some of their songs, but the performance on the stage was horrible. Fat guy drinking cider, not cool. Still I think that A.W Yrjänä (singer) has an great voice. One more time!!! BUT THIS WASN'T A GOOD SHOW!!! Tumppi's rating:
2009 at Kaisaniemi, Faith No More's warm-up Not exactly my favorite, but it was still fun to watch for waiting Faith No More's main event. Tumppi's rating:
2005 at Turku (Ruisrock Festival) I was not at that time, Children Of Bodom fan, but their live show was a worthy entertainment. I do not think of anything bad to say. Alexi Laiho is a great guitarist and stage charisma can also be found. I liked a lot. Today, I like to listen to their music in MP3 player. Tumppi's rating:
2005 at Turku (Ruisrock Festival) Mike Patton's avant-garde project was not quite as good. Still, this band really pulled a nice attitude. Patton is a good performer and singer. Unfortunately, this is not the best of his projects. Tumppi's rating:
2003 at Helsinki (Hartwall Arena) I'm not a big Robbie Williams fan, but I must say that he was a great gig. He had the charisma and suitably songs were familiar to the radio. Cost reached easily, and not on the two hour-long show seemed to be too long. 1. Let Me Entertain You Tumppi's rating:
