Sylvester Stallone is a true bad-ass. With over 30 action films from the 70's till now. He is over 60 years old and is still going strong. I dont think he ever will stop with action films.

Jason Statham is the British mix of the personality and clever one-liners of Bruce Willis and the cool marial-arts skills of Van Damme. A perfect mix for an action star.

Jet Li got some mad martial-arts skills and this small man can hold his own against any huge guy out there. But he always looks so nice and cind, nomather how mad or angry he tries to look.

Dolph Lundgren is one HUGE man. He must be one of the tallest action stars we got. He also has some great martial-arts and boxing skills, he even hurt Stallone really bad during the Rocky IV shoot. Just read this story:

When shooting the film, Sylvester Stallone decided that for the shooting of the fight, he and Dolph Lundgren should hit one another for real, so as to increase the intensity of the scene. After doing three takes of Rocky taking shots to ribs, Stallone felt a burning in his chest, but ignored it. Later that night, he had difficulty breathing and was taken to a nearby emergency room. It was discovered that his blood pressure was over 200, and he had to be flown on a low-altitude flight from Canada to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, where he remained in intensive care for eight days. What had happened was that Lungren had punched him so hard in the chest, Stallone's heart had slammed up against his breastbone and began to swell, cutting off the blood supply and restricting the oxygen flow throughout the body.

Terry Crews is a huge guy and everything, but i have never seen him do anthing bad-ass. When i see him all i think of is President Camacho from Idiocracy or Chris Rock's father from Everybody Hates Chris. He is a funny man, but so far, not very bad-ass.

When i look trough Eric Roberts' films on Imdb, i see alot of his films i have seen that he has been in, but i dont remember seeing him in any of them. I remember him as the villain in the awful Dead or Alive film and his role as Maroni in The Dark Knight. He is a pretty cool guy, but not a bad-ass.

Stone Cold Steve Austin. What can i say about this guy... I never watch wrestling so i have never seen him do any of that stuff. I remember him from Celebrity Deathmatch tough, and his only action film out now, The Condemned. Not a very good film at all, but he showed that he could be a good action star... But not a good actor.

Randy Couture has not done alot of film roles so far. He has been in a few action films like the Seagal film, Today You Die, where he had an uncredited role as Vincent's Bodyguard #1, and a role in The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior. But what he really is known as a bad-ass for is mixed martial arts, where he has 16 wins. 7 by knockout.

Mickey Rourke is another true bad-ass. His role as Marv in Sin City is the ultimate bad-ass role. He also had a small boxing career, that mixed with alot of plastic surgery, fucked his face up really bad.

Charisma Carpenter is the only woman on the list. The Expendables is clearly a team of just men, but Charisma's role as Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel shows that she also can kick ass... sometimes. Unlike all the other roles i have seen her as so far. I hope The Expendables can give her something more to do again, then just stand around and look sexy.

I got to be honest with you, i have only seen Gary Daniels in one film, and that is that awful Seagal film Submerged. And i dont really remember his role at all. But i know he is gonna play Bryan Fury in the Tekken film that is coming out later this year. That has to count for something.

Jean-Claude Van Damme just gave his best acting preformance in JCVD last year, but it is as an action star we know him. He would have been great in The Expendables with his powerful kicks and trademark splits. Only a real man can jump up in the air and land in the splits without screaming in pain.

Kurt Russell had some bad-ass roles in films like: Escape from New York, The Thing and Tango & Cash (with Stallone) and recently played a great bad-ass villain in the Quentin Tarantino movie, Death Proof. He would have been a cool addition to The Expendables cast.

The unknown Scott Adkins decided that starring in another DTV sequel to Undisputed was a better career choise than a part in The Expendables. Well, maybe he is just sceared he would just be a stunt man again. He was suposed to play Weapon XI in X-Men Origins, but ended up as just a stunt double for Ryan Reynolds. He has some crazy martial-arts skills and has fought Van Damme, Jet Li, Michael Jai White and Hugh Jackman.

Forest Whitaker was the second choise to play the Wesely Snipes role and was suposed to be is for a long time but backed out at the last second. You might think that is weird, that Forest Whitaker is no bad-ass, but he has been in alot of great bad-ass roles: Ghost Dog, Platoon, Bloodsport, Street Kings and The Last King of Scottland.

Alan Tudyk is one of my all time favorite actors. He is always a joy to watch and i would have loved to see him take the role he was offerd in this film. He is not a bad-ass tough. The most bad-ass roles i can think of is Wash on Firefly and Alpha on Dollhouse.

I really dislike 50 Cent, and when i heard he was gonna take over the role that Forest Whitaker backed out of i got kind of mad. I really diddnt want to watch him try to act for 2 hours. And i think alot of people tought the same since he only had the role for about 4-5 days before Terry Crews got it. He is a bad-ass tough, as far as i know, he is the only person on this list that has been shot 9 times and survived.
