RicardoP's rating:
- Henry V (1989)
- Much Ado About Nothing (1993)
- Hamlet (1996)
- Love's Labour's Lost (2000)

NOTE: Kenneth Branagh wrote the screenplays for these film, which are however not original works of his. They're all Shakespeare plays, which he adapted for screen.

Life is Beautiful (La vie Est Belle)
- 20 Fingers

More and more talent are taking up multi-tasking in films these days
Here are some of those talents that I would call Cinematic "Triple Threats"

The list will also specify weather those WDAs are Short Film WDA or Pioneer (pre 1980)
NOTE: I will try to provide links to full films, where available, for Short Film WDA.

List still in progress...
*Open to suggestion if you can give me the tittle of the film(s) they have Written, Directed and Played in

Please do suggest some female W/D/As as this list as way too many men, if you ask me! lol

Interesting list but I would remove Tom Hanks though. Indeed, he has written and directed those 2 movies but neither of them were financially or critically successful.

Nice work though!

Matt Damon has already written a couple of movies as well. I'm not sure whether he's directed any though...
Posted: 5 years ago at Dec 27 18:43
@johanlefourbe: Fair enough! Which part would u say he failed at in those films? Writing, directing, or acting? or a mix?
I haven't seen them yet.

@luuhs: I'll look into Matt Damon, thanks! :D
Posted: 5 years ago at Dec 27 18:46
@luuhs: Turns out he has only been writing (as well as acting).
He hasn't taken to directing as of yet!
Thanks anyways! :D

Great list, bro! Aye, would Joss Whedon be one of these types of people? I know several things he did, whether it be, W/D/A :)
Posted: 5 years ago at Dec 27 19:15
Miranda July - Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005)
Adrienne Shelly - Waitress (2007) + I'll Take You There (1999)
Mania Akbari - 20 Fingers (2004) + From Tehran to London (2012)

I haven't watched any of these films, but if someone have, he/she can suggest you which one to put on the list :)
(Miranda July's movie has the highest imdb rank among these)

Quentin Tarantino should have a mention with films such as Reservoir Dogs. He wrote it, directed it, and played the role as Mr. Brown.
Posted: 5 years ago at Dec 27 20:17
@Ohm-Nom-Nom: Joss Whedon has wrote and directed heaps, but he doesn't really act in them. The closer he got was a voice cameo in Firefly!

But he's definitely one to put in a "Writer/Director" list!!

@Milica: Thanks for all these suggestions, the feminine touch was need for this this list!
I've added Miranda July and Adrienne Shelly, will add the 3rd when I have more time!!

Dont hesitate to let me know if you think of some more!! :D

Jackie Chan "Chinese Zodiac"
Sylvester Stallone "The Expendables, Rocky II,Rambo (2008),Rocky IV, etc.
Posted: 5 years ago at Dec 28 9:23
Coming back on Tom Hanks, the movies he directed were not too bad but quite forgettable. At least, that's my opinion but you can keep him there.

I think Tarantino should be added as well.

@rampage2112 & @johanlefourbe:
Thanks for suggesting Tarantino i have just added him. A lot f his films look like his appearences were just cameos, n since I haven't seen all of them, I couldn't tell for sure how of a cameo / legit part they were (apart from the 2 I put) Let me know if u think more of his films should be on there!!

I've added Stallone and I'm adding Jackie Chan as we speak!! :D
Thanks for the suggestion!!

Great list!

Tarantino was also in "Pulp Fiction" as Jimmy, "Four Rooms" he directed the last of the four segments called "The Man from Hollywood" his character is Chester. And I also believe he has a part in "Django Unchained".

And finally, if you would like to add a brazilian W/D/A, you may add Selton Mello, he directed "Feliz Natal" (translated to English as December) and "O Palhaço" (The Clown) and in the last one he plays the lead role Benjamin.

Roman Polanski - The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) {co-writer} + The Tenant (1976) {co-writer}

Nanni Moretti - Caro diario (1993)

Mathieu Kassovitz - Café au lait (1993) + La Haine (1995) {as Young Skinhead - cameo} +
Assassin(s) (1997) {co-writer)

Great List!

But I miss Ben Stiller (Tropic Thunder).

@diabolical dr voodoo:
I've added the tarrantino titles but the Djago Unchained credit seems like a cameo, will have to wait 'till it's out to confirm that one!

I've also added Selton Mello! :D Thanks!!
