Was looking through my piles of magazine's and found this inside Anime Insider issue 50 from way back in 2007. Slightly dated but still a very, very good list.

Believe it or not most "classic" anime was crap. Most of the good classics are on the list. The reason Bebop is number one is because its got mainstream penetration. Even regular people like it. Because its good. It ain't my favorite either but even I think it deserves the top spot.

Now, Ok, I didn´t see the most of theese, but I certainly would recommend you to watch "Battle Angel" (Gunm) and "Bubblegun Crisis: tokyo 2040". And the monstruous popularity of "Dragon Ball" should count, don´t you think? :) Thanks for all theese indications! I´ll try to watch them! :) VOTED!
most of them went out of print years ago, and any that are still left on the market go for a premium. Lucky for you,some of these are getting relicensed and being released in much more affordable thinpaks.
Wow. Very perceptive of you. As if I didn't mention right off the bat the list is from 2007. And you only have yourself and possibly the failing economy to blame for not having seen anything from this list. My suggestion for anyone who hasn't seen anything from this list, to do so with the utmost haste.
Wow, this is a great list, with the exception of Urusei Yatsura (which I didnt like) everything here is worth a look. I've seen (or want to see) most of these things, and it's surprising finding here works that are vastly unknown!
