Short filmmaking is the proving ground for directors with an experimental edge and idealistic visions. Being afforded a high level of creative control over their production has whipped up some really wild and interesting results. They're also more focused and often you'd find a potent underlying message within them.

Street of Crocodiles is one that I dug.
