1. House of the Dead (2003)
Uwe Boll is a genius! This is truly one underappreciated gem of a movie.

*sigh* Nobody understand the beauty of this film. Kidding! Or am I?

Possibly the reason the rest of the world hates America?

2. Super Mario Bros. (1993)
John Leguizamo as Luigi! WTF? Yoshi is some sickly looking “lizard”. I couldn’t even label him a dinosaur. (I know that the word dinosaur roughly translates to “terrible lizard”. So technically Yoshi could be considered one b/c he is “terrible”. Just not in the cool vicious way.) Because dinosaurs all around the world would get offended. I cannot even recall the guy who played as Mario. Was Ron Jermey not available? He was the inspiration behind the “Mario” franchise. (Everybody is in agreement of the awesomeness of his acting skill. Right?!)

3. Double Dragon (1994)
Who even thought this video game processed a story line worth turning into a decent script is beyond me. From the opening credits to the ending credits even fans of the “Double Dragon” franchise just cringe…The ”Double Dragon” movie was so horrendous that it killed the franchise. The only plus was watching Alyssia Malino. And maybe the brothers' bizarre hand shake. Everybody would have been better off if a “River City Ransom” movie was made.

4. Street Fighter (1994)
Damn where do I even begin? I’ll just rant on the casting for now. Which is all f**ked up! Ranting on the rest of the movie will take up all day. “Juwanna Man” as Dee Jay, “Gomez Addams” as M. Bison, two random actors portraying car thieves who turn out to be Ryu and Ken, and the best casting choice was “The Belgium Ass Shot Machine” Van Damme as an over patriotic All-American Army solider. Man now that is some irony. Flawless although I tell you!

5. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
It’s really unfortunate considering the fact that the first movie was one better video game to movies to ever come out at the time. This sequel although is filled with a plot that you cannot really follow, horrible dialogue, terrible action sequences and even worse was the CG. What happened you ask?! Rumor has it that the studios rushed the movie to capitalize on the success of the first movie. Shooting it in less than 1 month. This is the type of product that Hollywood produces when they only what your money and do not give a shit about quality.

6. DOA: Dead or Alive (2006)
This is some type of mash up between “Bay Watch” presentation/acting and “Charlie’s Angels” action sequences. Stay away at all costs no matter how good looking Jaime Presley is.

7. BloodRayne (2005)
Besides Christina Loken’s semi nude scene this movie may cause instant death. The video game of “BloodRayne” was alright and had plenty of promise as a VIDEO GAME. Arguably storylines in some video games are not “1984” caliber, but then again what is? Video games are slowly getting known for their story telling ability which is nice to know, but the storyline in “BloodRayne” is just dismissible. Vampire Nazis!?

8. Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003)
The Cradle of Life: If Lara Croft can punch a shark in the nose then ride it from extremely low depths of the sea to all the way to the top without her head exploding then I know world peace is possible. Yes I am aware that this is just a movie, but really this is what I spent my money on. I am allowed to critique the damn thing. One again Mediocrity.

9. Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
Apocalypse: Not the worst. Not the best. Somewhere along the lines of Doom. Just Mediocrity again! Tell me Milla Jovavich and that you will not make anymore of these movies. Resident Evil: Extinction was not all that bad in my opinion although.

10. Doom (2005)
“Doom” in my opinion was not the worst (“House of the Dead”) or best (“Silent Hill”) video game to movie ever. Sure there was some star power involved (The Rock) and the special effects are worth noting, but it couldn’t save the movie from its worst fault: Meritocracy. The movie just feels…meh…like it doesn’t change your opinion about anything. You do not hate or love The Rock anymore. You do not hate or love the “Doom” games anymore. Lastly, you do not hate or love movie adaptations anymore than you did before.

Imagine if all the mediocre video game movies were put together? What would be the ending result? Would it either be an awesome video game to movie (finally)? Or something that would produce a Cataclysmic System shut down of the Matrix.

You're forgetting one of the worst ever, Uwe Boll's own 'Alone in the Dark'

Sadly, I've yet to see a truly good video game to movie adaptation.

With “Max Payne” being the latest addition to the video game to movie vault fans of both will have to see if this will wind up being worth watching. So I compiled this list to give people a brief love affair between the two. Obliviously it has been a rocky on indeed. Hopefully “Max Payne” doesn’t blow like the rest. The PG-13 rating makes me skeptical about the violence in it though. How do you film gun fights without blood pouring on the floor or squibs flying everywhere?! Great violence is not doesn't have the letters P or G in it. Neither does it have the number 13 near it. Unless it is in my feature film "Poppin' Gats-13 Times You Die". Terrible decision to go for the PG-13 money in my opinion. Sorry for the ranting.
