A Year of Horror - 2004 - Update V.2
Top Picks...![]()
Tempted to move this to another category just because despite all the blood, this isn't really a horror film that most people will enjoy. For the simple fact that this is a surrealist artistic film that has more to do with the stations of the cross then Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The twisted humor runs on the intellectual side regarding, the artist, the fan, the critic and the public. :: French - Drama - Horror :: jaytoast's rating:

Trapped in a subway station with a killer on the lose may sound like a tired script idea however Christopher Smith continues to twist the horror genre and crafts highly interesting films. :: German - Thriller - Horror :: jaytoast's rating:

Would have been more interesting if it had followed the comic "Alien vs Predator" (Yes, dig through the comic bins this isn't a new concept). Still, for pure monster chaos stupidity this was rather fun. jaytoast's rating:

The trilogy starts with an epically huge 'ancient temple' under LA... that no one had ever managed to find and you expect the series to get better? jaytoast's rating:

Agreed on AVP, which could have followed either the comics OR the novels & been a better film I think. Entertaining enough film though. I'll have to look into Calvaire.
Accounting for what I've seen of your taste, you'll adore it.
