Pokémon (1997)
First anime I saw.
Episodes: Like 900, and neverending
Genres: Adventure, Comedy, Action, Fantasy

I used to wake up very early in the morning to watch this on TV.

The story is typical nowadays, the main characters, which can get annoying at times because of their childlike behaviour (well, they are children), are fighting to be the best, and their reasoning is mostly uncertain, driven by random (sometimes stupid) emotions. I rated it high though, since by the time I've watched it I didn't care about such details, and enjoyed it a lot. Still, why is Ash still 10 years old, after a few years had passed since he became 10? Regarding the art, that somehow gets better while progressing, but weirder too, the pokemon designs get somehow rounder and fluffier, and that makes them weird. At least the soundtracks are awesome. I think there's not one I haven't enjoyed.
What I forgot to say is that the anime got me into the Pokemon games, which I LOVE with all my heart. And it's not just me, Pokemon rapidly turned into an international phenomenon.

I rated it so high because although it might have a lot of bad parts, although some say it sucks, that it's lame (and nowadays it is, I can't watch it), this thing made me a fan for life. :)

Dragon Ball Z (1996)
Second anime I saw.
Episodes: 291
Genres: Shounen, Action, Adventure, Comedy?, Martial Arts, Super Power / Fantasy

By the time I finished with watching Pokemon I was going around, switching channels on TV, searching for something to watch, until I saw Dragon Ball Z, which my friends were already watching. At the time I didn't care about how weird the animation or art was and about most of what was happening, seeing those epic battles was enough for me (yes, I didn't finish watching the whole series at that time, I did that later).

While watching, I was in suspense not knowing what might happen, since I hadn't seen much at the time, I thought, why not, the main characters might die. That doesn't happen often, does it? It does happen A LOT in DBZ. Here, you never know.

It's fan-base is HUGE. I have to say, great fans of DBZ, no offense, but the anime is a little bit overrated. Yes, it was pretty good for it's time, but there are many better anime out there waiting for you guys to watch them, so why not give others a try while slowly letting go of the Dragon Ball Z religion? Just saying.

Shaman King (2001)
Third anime I saw.
Episodes: 64
Genres: Action/Adventure, Drama, Comedy, Supernatural

I got a bit older and there were these TV channels streaming shows like Shaman King, and I followed it there from the beginning to the end.
Shaman King is an anime about a boy, Yoh, that is a shaman and dreams of becoming the Shaman King, the strongest of all shamans, title that he can get after winning a certain tournament (must say I love this theme). Along the way he gathers a group of other shamans and friends that aid him in his journey, each and every one of them with unique personalities and abilities, all of them changing along the way, so the characters are not only diverse, but well rounded too.
The story is pretty good, the fights are not easy to predict and your typical anime fights (or is that my opinion just because this was one of my first anime? oh, well).
It's not the best anime, it might lack some things, like a memorable soundtrack (I only remember the opening), but it was my favorite at the time, and I still think it's good... I should rewatch this some day. :)

Fourth anime I saw.
Episodes: 52
Genres: Comedy, Adventure

I don't know, I don't think I enjoyed this so much, I don't even remember this well.
Pretty average, if you ask me, the main theme is a tournament where people fight using B-Damans (not sure if this is their name), small robotic figures which shoot marbles, each B-Daman carrying a different ability.
It didn't really get to me, but I think this show is aimed at a young audience and kids might enjoy it, so if you're under 12 and reading this, give it a try! That, of course, unless you think you have swag. If you do, please leave.

Duel Masters (2004)
Fifth anime I saw.
Episodes: 26
Genres: Action, Comedy, Card game/Tournament

Seen it on TV, and enjoyed it as a kid, but it's weak as an anime, a lot of needlessly breaking the fourth wall, random cheesy jokes and references to other shows.
You might enjoy this if you're (again) a kid, or you already know and like the Duel Masters trading card game, which isn't that bad, to be honest, I used to play it and to own a pretty big deck. Otherwise, as I said, the anime is bad, the animation is weak, except the 3D, which is fine, there is no character development, and mostly all the other characters except the main character have no importance. This is all.

Naruto (2002)
Sixth anime I saw.
Episodes: 220
Genres: Action, Adventure, Drama, Superpower, Martial Arts, Shounen, Comedy, Attention whoring

Moving on from some crappy shows that I've seen but amused me whatsoever, I found Naruto streaming on television.
You've probably heard of it, ninjas fighting, some trying to be the best, become the Hokage or other kages, whatever.
I'm just going to say that I enjoyed it a lot as a child and this is the one show that got me into anime, made me look for other anime on my own, thinking that I'd find similar experiences. In my opinion it's good, many say it's overrated, and it might be so, but it's not a bad show.
I wrote "attention whoring" in the genres section because I can't forget what a drama queen Sakura was all the time, always crying because she's weak, never doing anything, that got on my nerves when I was little and following the show. She never stopped, not even in Shippuden.
Growing up watching Naruto actually made me believe in myself more, made me strive to be better, so it was useful and inspirational.
I'll give it an 8 since it had a lot of fillers (about half the series or more), but it will always be in my heart.

Air Gear (2006)
Seventh anime I saw.
Episodes: 25
Genres: Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Shounen

Moving on, I found this I don't know where on the internet, and started watching it. I'm usually annoyed by fan service , but I was little when I watched this (don't judge) and I didn't care. The anime's basically about some competition where people fight using AT's, motorized roller blades. That's cool and all, and it's also all I remember, and I don't feel like copying from other places just to add some text here. I also remember that it's unfinished, which is bad.

Dragon Ball (1986)
Eighth anime I saw.
Episodes: 153
Genres: Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Martial Arts, Shounen

This is the prequel to Dragon Ball Z, and in some aspects it is better than it, since here the arcs/sagas have diversity, not the same "we just beat the most powerful guy in the universe, and now a more powerful bad guy appeared" routine. It's enjoyable and has some funny moments in it, pretty well done for an older show.

Bleach (2004)
Ninth anime I saw.
Episodes: 366
Genres: Action, Comedy, Shounen, Supernatural

Bleach rapidly became one of my favorite anime, I remember being so enthusiastic while watching it that I sometimes got chills. It starts pretty slow, but even the first arcs are great. Really good shounen show to check out if you're into the genre.
The only thing I didn't get is where do people that die in the Soul Society go, and why are people born directly there. That was odd.
The music was excellent, even some filler arcs were good, except their timing, right in the middle of the action, that made me confused as heck.
I will consider reading the manga in the future.
Bad part: It ended before the manga.

Clannad (2007)
Tenth anime I saw.
Episodes: 23
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Slice of Life, Supernatural

I was telling a friend that I'm into anime lately, and he recommended Clannad to me, telling me it made him really emotional and that it's a really good show. So I gave it a try, and I'm sooooo glad I did! Ok, this season might have started a little weak, but it's necessary for the second one, you have to get to know the characters, the setting, everything, blah blah.
This is the introduction to Clannad After Story, in time it makes you get to know the characters and get really attached to them, and don't expect a harem anime just because it has a lot of girls in it, it's not the case. What follows is one of the best romance/drama anime I've ever seen or will see, I'm sure.

Eleventh anime I saw.
Episodes: 24
Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Slice of Life, Supernatural

As I was saying, I consider the first season some kind of build-up for this masterpiece. It's hard to describe my experience with this anime. Well, I might have been young and inexperienced, I might not have been prepared for this, but it hit hard. It's...beautiful. A must-see in my opinion. Although I was just a little boy, it made me cry in some moments, a lot, seriously, a lot, and I'm generally not the type to cry at dramas.
If you haven't yet, give it a try, it's worth.
Oh, and maybe a small downside (and spoiler), the ending was pretty forced. I know they wanted it to end well, but...please. I will overlook this, though.
I consider Clannad AS a must-see for everyone. Give it a try if you haven't yet.

Final rating: 10.

School Days (2007)
Twelfth anime I saw.
Episodes: 12
Genres: Drama, Romance, Harem, Pseudo-psychological

Despite my rating being low, I'll comment on this a bit.
The same friend that recommended Clannad to me told me I should watch School Days, and that it left a big impression on him.
I watched it and thought it was "pretty bad" at that time, it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, with a dark depressing feeling, I think I expected too much of it. Looking back on it later I honestly think it's the worst anime I had ever seen. The plot is bad, it barely exists, the characters are really stupid (I mean their IQs are low), I remember nothing of the music or anything, and the ending is horrible, it suddenly shifts the anime's style and theme.

Thirteenth anime I saw.
Episodes: Airing at the moment
Genres: Action, Adventure, Drama, Superpower, Shounen and a bit of Comedy

Not taking recommendations for a while anymore, I started looking up what I liked before, and found Naruto Shippuden, the sequel to Naruto. I immediately started watching, and it became my favorite anime of the time, probably because of the memories since I was younger and that I already loved the characters (most of 'em, some not...ahem, Sakura), and because the soundtrack is one of the best you can find out there.
The main difference between this and its prequel is that it brings a lot of new characters into the setting, while also adding many unexpected twists to the story, more tense emotional moments, character deaths that bring some seriousness to the plot, aaand character development to some, especially the main character(s).
The "sexy jutsu" is apparently gone (more or less, Konohamaru). It had miiinor plot holes that I didn't wanna talk about, but I'll still ask... Where did that "substitution jutsu" disappear? Or when did they stop using the Sharingan to copy jutsus? Wasn't the Hokage (or any other Kage) someone who's mastered 1000 jutsus? Why is Sakura still annoying after so many episodes?
Meh, some questions cannot be answered by mere words.

Fairy Tail (2009)
Nineteenth anime I saw.
Episodes: 175
Genres: (Exaggerated) Comedy, Action, Adventure, Shounen, Fantasy

When I look back on Fairy Tail I realize it had a lot of bad moments where the creators of the show (or manga if that's in the manga too, didn't read it) tried to keep the watchers in suspense and created a lot of drama, kinda succeeded to a point, but left no way to get the main characters out of a tough situation which seemed without hope, so the protagonists just get out of it by sheer will and the power of friendship.
When I first watched I ignored those moments and just enjoyed the show, it's not bad in certain aspects, the characters are pretty unique if you compare them to other characters from the same show, some resemble One Piece characters a lot. But I didn't know that at the time and I enjoyed the story, the music was beautiful too and went really well with the setting.

Found Angel Beats! on Myanimelist as a recommendation for those that have seen and liked Clannad, and it was similar to some extent, gave me the same kind of feel (especially at the ending) which made me increase it's rating. It's pretty simple to follow, watched it in one sitting. A nice drama.

I honestly don't know to what extent Elfen Lied was a psychological anime. On the internet the opinions were shared, some loved it, some hated it, I'm usually a guy who doesn't hate or love a show just for small aspects of it (I might've been when I was younger, though, that's the reason for other show ratings). Elfen Lied seemed like an experimental show.
Oh, by the way, the art and animation could've been better.

Death Note (2006)
Twenty-second anime I saw.
Episodes: 13
Genres: Mystery, Psychological, Supernatural, Thriller

This one... This was entirely new to me.
By this time I was already watching anime as a hobby, and stumbled upon Death Note, but at the time I was skeptic about it.
Death Note brought my expectations when watching a new show to a new level, I would have never thought that someone could create a world with certain rules and be able to take advantage of them so well, and think of all of these, then place them in an anime (well.. manga, which is first in most cases). Death Note was an unique experience, it's filled with numerous dramatic moments and twists that most people would never expect and I suggest it to everyone wanting to watch something different if they haven't yet. Even people that aren't into anime will probably enjoy it.

! The list is NOT finished. I don't have enough time to add or edit entries for the moment, sorry.

Hello, dear listal members. I had been into anime since really young and I had watched quite a relevant number of them in my lifetime, so I decided I'll be creating this list, and while I don't expect it to gain popularity here, I will be sharing it with the community, regardless.

I will list here every anime series that I have seen until the present day, adding a short commentary to some, based on how I perceived them. I'll be commenting mostly on those that have left an impression on me, those generally are the ones not in the 5-7 rating range.

By default the items are listed in the order I (remember I) watched them, but feel free to reorder them by whatever criteria you'd like.

If you find something interesting, look it up here or (why not)on myanimelist (that's what I usually do). Enjoy.

Oh, here's how I rate them, briefly:
10 - Masterpiece/perfect work, as in my all-time favorites that I full-heartedly recommend to everyone.
9 - Almost perfect/really really good, stuff that nearly got a 10, I recommend these to most people.
8 - Very good, anime I enjoyed a lot and I think others would too, watch if you're into their respective genres.
7 - Good, didn't get an 8 because I probably watched it in the wrong moment, I usually wouldn't recommend these.
6 - Ok, not so bad, but not that good, I probably didn't like it, I don't recommend anything with 6 or below.
5 - Meh/average, these barely pass the test, but are frowned upon.
4 - Below average, these don't pass.
3 - Bad, oh, God...
2 - Horrible, Satan forced me to watch this, and I should've refused.
