30 TV Shows
The best comedy show I've seen. If you hate laugh tracks and appreciate subtle humor you should give this show a try. Deadwood and Firefly are my other favorite canceled shows. Mr. Saturn's rating:
The only other psychological thrillers I like more than Monster are Vertigo and M (it was that great and suspenseful for me). There are some mysterious elements to the series, but it's never cliché or boring. Monster is oftentimes emotional and poignant, and it's a journey worth experiencing. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Cowboy Bebop is very enjoyable even if you don't appreciate anime too much. Cowboy Bebop is an extremely fun space western and if you have any interest in anime and bounty hunters it's worth a look. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Definitely recommend if you like Cowboy Bebop and vice-versa. Mr. Saturn's rating:
![]() Don't be put off by the Christian themes. I'm an atheist and this is one of my favorite films (second to Greed). The film series can be viewed as an agnostic series, like the films of Bergman and Bresson, or probably more accurately almost agnostic like the films of Tarkovsky. Mr. Saturn's rating:
The Wire convinced me that TV shows can be great art, although I prefer films. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power. - Ben Franklin I love how DS9 confronted moral uncertainty and wasn't as tied down to the dogma of the well intention-ed but flawed prime directive as TNG or Voyager. In the Pale Moonlight makes the audience question if we want to be in the dark about the actions of our government. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Fooly Cooly isn't too weird like I expected; it's a cute coming of age story and undeniably fun. Episode 1 Mr. Saturn's rating:
The majority of the show is about Dexter and the killers, which is very entertaining, but almost everything else is filler material. Think about it this way, would combining the events that happened to the supporting characters make anything more than a mediocre show? Would you watch that show? Mr. Saturn's rating:
Rocko's Modern Life is an insightful show for kids, with many instances of black humor. One of my favorite episodes makes fun of the show. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Homer's great, but I prefer the Bart episodes over the Homer episodes. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Six Feet Under has the better ensemble cast but they can't beat Al Pacino and Meryl Streep. Mr. Saturn's rating:
I love this speech. Even if you're judged, that's no reason or excuse to not live the life you want. Mr. Saturn's rating:
![]() In the series finale a puppet asks people on the street 'What's wrong with TV?' in order to make compelling television; it was a surprisingly existential episode. Mr. Saturn's rating:
Mr. Saturn's rating:
The first ten seasons would make The Simpsons the greatest show ever; the show lost some if its charm when the show switched to digital animation, and slowly the writing became less funny and less touching. Mr. Saturn's rating:

Very interesting choices here. Wonder Showzen is full of WTF moments, which is one of the reasons I got into it (and thanks for the image vote there). Agreed on both categories for Six Feet Under too. And of course Arrested Development, which I'm hoping hasn't lost its magic when it returns for the 4th season.
