Fellowship of the Ring: 208 min (extended edition)

Watchmen: 215 min (ultimate cut)
Shoah (1985) is over 500 minutes long (other versions running either 540 or 565) but there's not one of those minutes that drag. Completely captivating to say the least all the way through.
The mark of a truly good, well-made film is that it is so engaging and so entertaining that you don't realize that 3 hours has gone by. In some cases, you even wish it could go on longer. I think the 3-4 hour mark is where I draw the line. I can't see watching a movie for 6+ hours.
I saw some movies in the list that I have watched and enjoyed, but had no idea they were 3+ hours long.
I completely agree "blankend". I've only come across a few films so engaging in which I feel that way about. Also, 6 hours is pushing it a wee bit. Maybe if it was cut up into two halves or something, it would be easier to maintain.
Yeah, a lot of movies out there are shocking revelations once you realize their length.
Greed
Celine and Julie Go Boating
The Mother and the Whore
The Human Condition
Also, "Andrei Rublev" is about 225 minutes long. Theres' a shortened version, but the full version is that long. "Out 1", which I have not seen, is supposedly 12 hours long
HOLY BLADDER-BUSTER BATMAN! 9 hours? Damn, I really wanna see "Shoah", and perhaps I'm different from everyone else that I actually prefer a long movie to a short one. But I'm just not sure I can clear my schedule out enough for such an 'epic' duration?!!...
And Thanks Vivi :)
