A list of 80 movies that were filmed, at least in part, in the city Philadelphia or its surrounding suburbs since Rocky first ran up the Art Museum steps in 1976. When I started to make the list I was surprised at how many movies that have been filmed in the Philadelphia area, and wished that I had seen more of them, but have now added a number I haven't seen to my netflix queue. Here are my top ten movies on the list of the ones I have seen:

Trading Places
The Sixth Sense
Rocky
Rocky III
Taps
Witness
Philadelphia
Stealing Home
Rocky Balboa
12 Monkeys

My reference source for this list was
the Greater Philadelphia Film Office,
the synopsis' of the films are from there and from IMDB

Great work. Makes me curious how many movies were filmed, or partially filmed in my home town. Dunno if it's your style, but Blue Valentine is a very strong film. Worth a look!
