No. 1: Bar Refaeli (2009

I can't even find the words for Bar Refaeli. Even though she was on the cover just one year ago, I can't put her anywhere other than the top. She is perfection. That face, that body, that... everything.

As long as she keeps gracing the pages of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, I will keep buying it. Oh, who am I kidding, even if she wasn't I'd still get it, but the world is such a better place when she's in it

No. 2: Veronika Verekova (2004)

Appearing in Sports Illustrated eight times, we finally got to see Veronika on the cover in 2004. Thank goodness. She had long been one of my absolute favorites. Just look at her. She exudes sexiness.

Not only that, but Veronika is a badass too. In 2008, she successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. In my mind she did it wearing this bikini, too
Rate:
No. 3: Marisa Miller (2008)

Marisa Miller is a real life Barbie doll. She has dimensions that I didn't think were humanly possible. When she showed up on the cover in 2008 wearing those beads, let's just say I haven't made a purchase that fast since the last time I heard the ice cream truck driving by my neighborhood.

No. 4: Heidi Klum (1998)

The ageless one, Klum only appeared on one cover, but her work stands out above the rest. She was also a Victoria's Secret angel, which just made us love her more. She's made plenty of TV appearances but is best known now for hosting Project Runway which I have totally never seen.

Oh, and apparently Frau Klum is also blind because she's been married to Seal for years now. That guy has to be amazing in bed, I'm just saying. He's not a handsome man
Rate:
No. 5: Carolyn Murphy (2005)

One of the hottest cover models of all time, Carolyn Murphy was never super comfortable with the limelight, but boy was she thrust into it after her cover shoot when her ex-husband was arrested for trying to sell a sex tape of her.

The tape eventually leaked onto the internet, but we don't need to brave the viruses out there to see it, I'm just fine with looking over her incredible pictures from 2005
Rate:
No. 6: Rebecca Romijn (1999)

Romijn scored the Sports Illustrated cover just one year after getting Stamosed (yes, I made it a verb). Since that famous cover and the amazing pictures of her in it, she went on to be best known as the (original! Sorry Avatar) hot blue naked chick in X-Men.

Not exactly the way I always wanted to see Rebecca Romijn naked, but I'll take what I can get

No. 7: Tyra Banks (1996, '97)

What can you say about Tyra that she hasn't already said about herself and more?

Actually, one thing you can say is that she was an icon. Love her or hate her, there wasn't a man alive that didn't want to get with Tyra Banks at her apex.
Rate:
No. 8: Paulina Porizkova (1984, '85)

Paulina pretty much owned the '80s so bad that her and John Hughes bought realty there. After just one year in the swimsuit issue, she earned two straight covers, landed job after job in the industry before pulling down a $6 million modeling contract, the largest ever up to that point.
Rate:
No. 9: Brooklyn Decker (2010)

There was a lot of intrigue leading up to the unveiling of this year's cover girl, but really, who else could it have been? Brooklyn Decker blew us away the last few years, recently married Andy Roddick, and proved herself to be one of the most down-ass chicks in modeling.

That's definitely enough to immediately vault her into the Top 10 of all time.
Rate:
No. 10: Daniela Pestova (1995, '00)

This Czechoslovakia hottie gave us one of the best pictures ever while still managing to keep her shirt on. That's the mark of an amazing model. She's been called The Chameleon for constantly changing her look, but I don't care what look she's rocking, my money is on her still looking damn fine.
Rate:
No. 11: Christie Brinkley (1979, '80, '81)

The very first woman to pull three straight covers, Christie Brinkley was the fantasy of every pubescent boy in the early '80s. She was also married to Billie Joel for a little while.

Basically, Brinkley is now 56 still looks like this and is once again back on the market after getting divorced for a fourth time in 2008. Oh, and did I mention she's worth about $80 million? This MILF is the perfect sugar momma.
Rate:
No. 12: Valeria Mazza (1996)

Valeria Mazza came into our hearts and lives in 1996 when she shared the cover with Tyra Banks. The world only had so long to admire her, because just two years later she got married then got to work pumping out four different kids who all had to hear from their friends how smoking hot their mom is.
Rate:
No. 13: Elsa Benitez (2001)

Elsa Benitez was the cover model for the very first Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue I ever bought. It was a combination of her incredibly sexy cover and the morbid curiosity to see this gorgeous woman that was somehow married to Ron Seikaly.
Rate:
No. 14: Kathy Ireland (1989, '92, '94)

You want to talk about successful, just check out Kathy Ireland. The sexy model is also a CEO, author, and actress. Who can forget her turn as the hottest kicker ever to grace the football field? I know I can't.

I also can't forget the three covers she made and how she dominated as a sex symbol of the early '90s.
Rate:
No. 15: Elle Macpherson (1986, '87, '88, '94)

Hottie Aussie Elle Macpherson dominated the swimsuit issue for a while, becoming just the second woman to land three straight covers. This is one of her earliest pictures, before she started showing up on Friends or movies.

She has become one of the most successful businesswomen out of all the other cover models and is now the producer and host of Britain's Next Top Model. Who thinks she'll be less annoying than Tyra?
Rate:
No. 16: Beyonce Knowles (2007)

In 2007, Beyonce became the first non-model ever to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. I have to say, that was a great choice. Model or not, when Beyonce loses her clothes I start to lose my mind. You could say I'm crazy in love.
Rate:
No. 17: Rachel Hunter (1994)

Stacy's mom had it going on and still has got it going on. Even though she has made her living now appearing on reality TV shows, we still love her if for nothing else than her SI cover and showing up as one of the hottest MILF's ever on that stupid, catchy Fountains Of Wayne song.
Rate:
No. 18: Vendela Kirsebom (1993)

This Swedish-Norwegian-Turkish model is as hot as she is apparently confused about her origin. She was another model who showed up, got America all hot and bothered, the disappeared to lead a normal-but-hotter life of a stay at home mom.

Although, even at 43 now I'm still curious to see her back on that sand in that fine bikini. I'm guessing she's still got it. Women like this don't ever lose it.
Rate:
No. 19: Petra Nemcova (2003)

Petra Nemcova may be one of the most badass models ever to grave the SI cover. In a typhoon she managed to hang on to the top of a palm tree for almost eight hours to stay alive and speaks six different languages.

What have you done lately?

Average listal rating (73 ratings) 7.4 IMDB Rating 0
No. 20: Carol Alt (1982)

Affectionately referred to as "The Face," Carol Alt appeared in over 500 magazine covers in the '80s, but refused to go naked with offers from Playboy. Finally she said yes in 2008, long after people cared about seeing Carol Alt naked.
Rate:
No. 21: Ashley Richardson Montana (1991)

When she scored the cover of Sports Illustrated people saw her last name and erroneously reported that she was the wife of quarterback Joe Montana, but in fact she was married to a nightclub owner with the same last name.

She also had a brief romance with JFK Jr. and, yes, that time it was actually the person you're thinking of.
Rate:
No. 22: Yvette Sylvander (1976)

I'm not even sure these two Swedish twins exist. They seemingly came out of nowhere, grabbed the SI cover, then were basically never seen or heard from again...except in my dreams.

No. 23: Judit Masco (1990)

This Spanish model could have been the Bond girl in Golden Eye if it weren't for scheduling conflicts. She also was offered a role in A Walk In The Clouds with Keanu Reeves, but had to turn it down for the same reason. At least in that one she probably would have been the best actor in the movie.

Average listal rating (66 ratings) 7.7 IMDB Rating 0
No. 24: Cheryl Tiegs (1970, '75, '83)

Tiegs started modeling at the age of 17 and became a superstar not too long after obviously. She has kept in the public eye, even being a judge on the show True Beauty where people had to pretend that they cared that beautiful people were beautiful on the inside as well.
Rate:
No. 25: Yamila Díaz-Rahi (2002)

This Argentinian beauty originally wanted to study economics, but the call of the modeling world was just too strong. Although she's not my favorite model of all time, you can't deny that killer body.
