2012 Movie Diary - May
May 1st
2 new first time viewings.
Nowhere near as thrilling as I thought it would be and although the acting is quite good, I find it a little boring in the middle. Especially since the whole affair is within the first 25 minutes (it's pretty kinky stuff), then there's an hour and a half of repetitive "Fuck you" and "I hate you" and "I'll kill you" and it's like, "FFS, shut up bitch." And then there's the end, which is actually quite good.

Not as good as I thought I would be, although those actors were young at the time so I commend them! I liked the idea, it was really cute, but it became a little contrived to me. For example, I know swearing comes naturally to people but there's SO MUCH it's unreal. I liked it, but if it were all as good as the last 15 or so minutes it would've been a hell of a lot better!

Another first time viewing.
Anne Hathaway got her boobs out again! I love her so much and I have so much respect for her! And Jake Gyllenhaal, wow... What a sexy bastard! This movie made me want to do some dirty stuff with that hunky gent! His ass is gorgeous! I love this film, and there's this one scene about 2 thirds of the way through in which I realised that Annette Bening robbed Anne of the Golden Globe she deserved. It's an unpopular opinion but it's mine and I'll stick by it.

Holy shit, I love it! It's absolutely fucking hilarious! :D The cast is just unbelievable! Jason Bateman, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day, I've never heard of him before this but he was bril and I have a little bit of a crush on him! :)

2 more first time viewings.
In a word: weird. I mean really, WTF? The beginning is understandable enough, its not too complex, just a little exciting but then the overthinking of the writers and the underthinkning of the viewers kicks in and it's turned into some confusing shit! But the end is good and easy to understand. So it's weird but I liked it.
![]() Cameron Diaz is amazing and James Marsden is sexy, what more do you need? Bobbayyyyy's rating:

5 films, 4 of which were more first time viewings.
I absolutely fucking loved it! Without a doubt one of the best movie musicals I've ever seen, and what an amazing cast! Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, John C. Reilly, Queen Latifah, Christine Baranski...
![]() ![]() I couldn't help but notice that Catherine was so much better at dancing than Renée was... Bobbayyyyy's rating:
Wow. Just wow. I did not expect to like this at all, let alone love it! But I did and I can't believe it. I love it! I'm going to take it upon myself to jump on the band wagon with the millions of people who are pioneering for a sequel to this. Although it can obviously stand alone without one, I didn't understand the ending and I both feel it needs one and I that I'd kill to see one.
![]() The whole comic book style of the film is fantastic and the cast is absolutely stellar, including: Jessica Alba Alexis Bledel Rosario Dawson Clive Owen Bruce Willis Nick Stahl Brittany Murphy Benicio del Toro Mickey Rourke Jaime King Carla Gugino Josh Hartnett Elijah Wood Bobbayyyyy's rating:
This film is, in a word, lovely. It's an inspiring story about how love knows no limits and how you can find it anywhere even if you're not looking for it! Plus, it has one of the longest kisses (without tongues) I've ever seen on film! :)
![]() Mel Gibson used to be so fucking hot... Bobbayyyyy's rating:
May 7thLoved it. Although, I'd have loved it more if I hadn't read the book/if it were truer to the book. (However after a second viewing I have learnt to appreciate it and stop comparing it to the book.) The book is my favourite book ever and will stay with me for a long time and the story itself was more or less spot on, I just had a few issues with what they left out. Including my very favourite part! :/ Oh well, I can still love it for what it is, and what it is is a great heart-warming film that can make you cry with laughter and with sadness at the end.
![]() ANOTHER AMAZING CAST! Emma Stone (my new favourite), Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jessica Chastain, Allison Janney, Sissy Spacek, Cicely Tyson, etc. ![]() Once again, the Oscars have pissed me off. How can this have NOT won Best Picture? Also, how could you possibly nominate Jessica Chastain over Bryce Dallas Howard or Allison Janney or MAYBE even Sissy Spacek. Although I'll forgive them because Octavia Spencer won the category! ![]() And although Viola Davis lost, I will accept it as Meryl Streep won. But what about Emma Stone? Another great snub. ![]() Oh well, it did sweep the SAG Awards... Bobbayyyyy's rating:

3 films, 2 were first time viewings.
I loved it! It was hilarious but at the same time, it was a dark, Burton-ey fantasy! The cast was amazing! Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Grace Moretz! Wow, j'adore! The soundtrack is wonderful, the script is genius and although the end is a little silly/pointless, (and I know it's based on a 60s show) the story is quite brilliant and unique in my opinion.
![]() There was this one thing, from the middle through to the end that really wowed me. I couldn't find any pictures on the internet and I don't really want to spoil it but there's an absolutely breath taking make-up effect used on Eva Green that's absolutely fantastic! :) Bobbayyyyy's rating:

4 films, 2 first time viewings.
Another amazing cast! Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon, Marisa Tomei... The story, the way it all plays out at the end, is utter genius! Also, I love the script!
"The skin under your eyes is starting to look like Hugh Hefner's ballsack." "I think I'm having a mid-life crisis. You know last week when I told I had to work late? I really went to see the new Twilight movie by myself... I don't know why I did that, it was so bad." There was a ton of stuff that made me laugh, but those quotes were the best, they're what cam to mind! :D ![]() Bobbayyyyy's rating:
I know Roald Dahl hated this so much it killed him and I can see why and I am a huge lover of the book and the rest of his work, but I can't stop liking this film! I think Anjelica Huston is absolutely amazing (she used to scare the shit out of me)! And I also like Rowan Atkinson and Jane Horrocks in this too. But of course I hate the ending and the fact that "Luke" is randomly American...

One new first time viewing.
In a word: underwhelming. I absolutely loved the first 45 minuted or so and then I kind of lost interest until the last 15... :/ I liked it, but it didn't keep me hooked. Which is a very bad thing for a superhero movie!
![]() Ah well, Hayley Atwell gives a fab performance and Chris Evans is absolutely beautiful... That body... Wow... Bobbayyyyy's rating:

Another new viewing experience.
I had really low expectations for this, which is probably the only reason I liked it so much (apart from the sex appeal of Jason Momoa), I know it got terrible reviews! Paige McGowan definitely gives the best performance, somewhat against type in this film! She is absolutely wonderful!
![]() Oooooh, look at that body! It did lack something, and was a little silly in some places but I really enjoyed it! Bobbayyyyy's rating:

Yet another first time viewing.
Loved it! Sandra Bullock as always is absolutely radiant and with the sexy Ryan Reynolds helping her with his great performance, she shines brighter than the sun! LOL, joke. Critic's language over.
Loved it, Sandra Bullock is fab and Ryan Reynolds is a fine piece o' ass! :P ![]() It also stars the wonderful Mary Steenburgen (who is slowly becoming a favourite of mine) and Betty White, screen legend! They are both wonderful, love this film! Bobbayyyyy's rating:

2 films, one was a first time viewing.
I've always really liked this movie. Who wouldn't? It's dancing and singing and penguins! The voice cast is amazing: Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Robin Williams, Hugo Weaving... It has breathtaking musical numbers and the story expresses a very real problem in a rather creative way. Love it.

2 of my favourites!
I absolutely adore this! Amazing cast, catchy songs, great story, what more do you want?!?
If y'all aint seen it, you aint lived! ![]() The cast were nominated for a Screen Actors Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, but lost to the cast of No Country For Old Men. (BOO!) So, this stellar, SAG nominated cast includes: Christopher Walken, John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, (Sex God) James Marsden, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, (Sex God) Zac Efron, Allison Janney, (Sex God)Elijah Kelley and Nicki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad. Bobbayyyyy's rating:
My absolute favourite Disney movie, possibly my favourite anything movie EVER. I absolutely fucking adore it! It's so good! I've grown up with it. Since it was released 5 years before my birth I've always had it on VHS and although I've unforgivably forgotten about it in recent years, it's suddenly crept back into my life, and I couldn't be happier. I love the story, the songs, the characters, the everything! I'll stop now before I break my computer...

I loved it! The cast is amazing, and FULL of sexy bitches! Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Drawford, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Rodrigo Santoro, Joe Manganiello... It's no secret I love ensemble movies like this and this is definitely one of the funniest! It's wonderful, really.

Beautiful and haunting. I've read the book up until she got killed and I'm really glad that the movie didn't show the rape! Phew... I love Saoirse Ronan, and this film is another reason why! I can't believe I watched a film in which I hate Stanley Tucci! I feel horrible, but then we're not supposed to like him because he is a serial killer of young girls in this film. He's a wonderful actor though! Love him. The film also stars Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon.
![]() Kudos to Alice Sebold (author of the novel) and well done to the make-up team for making Rose McIver look 12! Congratulations. Bobbayyyyy's rating:

Two films, a favourite and a first time viewing.
I bloody love this film. The cast is absolutely amazing! You got your Tim Burton Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and then you got Stephen Fry, Anne Hathaway and Mia Wasikowska in the role that really kick-started her career! Love the scenery, the animation, the costumes, the script!

Three films, including an absolute favourite.
I like this movie long time. Sorry, Bajan voice over. I've liked this film ever since I can remember and I'm currently rehearsing to perform the musical for the 3rd time (I'm just in the chorus :/). I love the songs, the story, and the characters are like, 6-dimensional. The one thing I ABSOLUTELY HATE is Oliver's singing voice, ew!
![]() Bobbayyyyy's rating:
Fuck me! Wow this is fantastic. I bloody loved it, loved it. The story, the acting (which unfortunately passed under the radar a bit) from an amazing cast, consisting of: Keira Knightley, James McAvoy (who made me want to do dirty things to him in this, the little hottie), Saoirse Ronan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Juno Temple, Romola Garai, Vanessa Redgrave, etc. And I loved the sets, the locations were breathtaking!
![]() In short a fantastic film that I can't recommend enough! FLAWLESS. Bobbayyyyy's rating:
May 31stI did not expect to like this at all, let alone love it! It's wondeful! It's gritty, dramatic, tragic, multi-dimensional and brutal. Viggo Mortenson is fantastic and so is, Kodi Smitt-McPhee (the boy from Let Me In). I also loved Charlize Theron and although her role was small, it was totally necessary!
