2004 ranks as my #1 year in the 2000's in average Top 10 rating with an 8.9. It brought my favorite comedy of all time, Anchorman, one of the most quotable movies in recent memory, Napoleon Dynamite, and quite a few other very solid entries. Because of the strength of 2004, I decided to expand my Top 10's into Top 25 to see if this rating held up, or if it actually increased it's lead!
Here's my Top 5, click here for the rest of the list... the depth of this year is evident as there were easily 40 movies I was able to find worth ranking. Of course, this could also be attributed to the fact that I just watch more movies now than earlier in my life. Top 10 Average Rating: 8.9 Top 25 Average Rating: 7.7 2005

I try to rank the films based on how readily I'd watch them again, a 10 I never get tired of watching and on and on. A 7 or 8 is about as high as I go for a film that I really like, but don't really see myself watching again, unless with a group or something.
Thanks for the comment though!
