With Halloween fast approaching, I've decided to list what are, in my opinion, the most influential horror movies ever made.

Ironically you have left off The Last Man On Earth - a fairly faithful version of I Am Legend which George Romero said heavily influnced his zombie movies the first being Night of the Living Dead

As much as I think its a crap film wtf? no Cannibal Holocaust for the faux documentary/found footage sub genre

And NO anthology film mentioned at all - Dead of Night (1945)

finally nothing about comedy horror - American Werewolf In London

Yeah, like thenoah said. I, too, would have added The Wolf Man and Amer. werewolf in London. Both were extremely influential.

It's sad about Blair Witch. I agree it was very influential...just in a bad way. ;P

@Fortunato - BWP revived the found footage fake documentary sub-genre and there have been some cool films in that area - Grave Encounters, Apollo 18, Noroi: The Curse, Occult, VHS, Poughkeepsie Tapes, The Tunnel - a lot of bad films ,but that goes without saying
