Description: Jonathan Liebesman was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After high school, he attended the South African School of Film and Drama before moving to the U.S. to study at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Liebesman wrote and directed the award winning short film Genesis and Catastophe, based on Roald Dahl's short story. The film was screened at numerous film festivals and generated a lot of buzz. Darkness Falls was his first directorial feature film which debuted at #1 for Revolution Studios and Sony.
