Over rated movies, books, music?

Like I mentioned in another thread, I think Twilight is way over rated. I mean, to all it was built up to, it was a disappointment. What things do you guys think are over rated?

I couldn't watch Lost in Translation. I found the beginning incredibly boring. I have always despised U2. I don't know why that is. I like similar music and I can see how others like them, but I hate them. I was also really disappointed in Dark Knight. I thought Ledger was a great Joker and one of the best villains out there, but I didn't like anything else about the movie.

And if the beginning is boring, then I can't watch the rest of the movie. I've heard about Radiohead. But never really listened to their music. All I know is that it was Miley Cyrus's favorite band, and she wanted to meet them and they refused. I thought it was quite funny, to be honest. Miley Cyrus is another highly over rated singer. But not just over rated. A horrible example for kids. Who would let their 16 year old daughter date a 21 year old Male Underwear model? I find it insulting that they still have her on kid targeted shows like Hannah Montana.

They didn't want to meet here because they think she feels entitled to everything. She proved their point when she whined about it and said she would ruin them. (God, she is an egomaniac and needs to get over herself. How could she honestly ruin Radiohead? Radiohead's fan base isn't prepubescent girls and their creepy fathers.) Miley Cyrus just seems so fake to me. She gets on my very last nerve.

Kris Rank : 182	Posted : 7 months, 2 weeks ago at Mar 27 15:02 - For me these movies are over rated: The Godfather, The Godfather: Part Two, The Deer Hunter, Cidade de Deus (Just a little too over rated, not much), Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Alien (Kind of), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Kind of), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Per qualche dollaro in più, The Big Lebowski, Children of Men, A Streetcar Named Desire, Mystic River... Books: Hard to tell, I haven't read to many books in my life :/. Except Harry Potter 1-4, but their not over rated!! Or did I just misunderstood on what we should talk about here? I'm new here you see... :P

I liked Amelie, Eternal Sunshine and The Big Lebowski but I can definitely see why some people wouldn't. Especially The Big Lebowski. Its pretty stupid. Most of the Harry Potter books are pretty good. My favorite was the 5th and I also liked the first three a lot. The last two, I have to say, I didn't enjoy too much.

And sunshine is just confusing, a good movie indeed, but it's so confusing that i don't think it's a perfect movie, if you understand me? :P Yeah, i though Leobowski are way too stupid. The same thing with "O, Brother where art thou?" (or how do you spell it?) But, of course we can't agree totally in everything either! That would have been very stupid xD

I like the music (in small increments) of O, Brother but its not a movie I want to see over and over again.

Just saw the movie and that was terrible actually. Nice dynamic, but not the film in itself! But are you sure you don't have heard of some of the films? Godfather for instance? :P I will soon make a list of MY favorite films and over rated films (maybe) for then get your opinion about it ;)

Anyway I thought Twilight was good but many people overrate it by a mile but people also underrate it also twilight was a good movie not bad just a one time watch. I mean movies 1-3 are good, but 4 and 5 were awful in my opinion. Another thing I believe is overrated? Video games. I mean, people spend half their lives in front of game consoles, and for what? It doesn't teach valuable skills, important reference points, or anything useful at all. It pretty much melts your brain to where you believe your life is nothing more than a video game.

He has insanely great potential as a writer, I still consider him good, I have not read Brisingr, but from what I've heard, it's a let down of an ending (DO NOT SPOIL IT FOR ME) Miley Cyrus: First off, she's fake, second, she's a pop singer who barely plays any instruments, third, she's spoiled, fourth: She's dumb enough to partner with Disney, anybody looking for a long music career should NOT screw themselves over with Disney! sixth: Jason Earles(w/e his name is), Emily Osment and Mitchell Musso ALL act better then Miley does, On her own show! that's hilarious in my opinion Coldplay: Wtf? These guys are okay, but damn, choosing THEM to endorse over MUSE?! Wtf America? FAIL FOR YOU on EPIC proportions! And, Viva La Vida made BEST song? WTF even MORE!? Jonas Brothers: OMG STFU about them!!! Seriously, they're passable as musicians(At least they can play instruments) but they are not the almighty gods of rock or anything close! Naked Brothers Band: Okay, if these kids can play that well LIVE, I'll give them some props and say they're apretty good for a bunch of kids, but as far as what I've gathered: They're not great, and they're probably fake; They're -okay- at acting, once again for kids I'm gunna be honest too, Linkin Park is way overrated also, don't get me wrong, they're one of my favorite bands and held #1 for the longest and MOST separate times out of every band I know, but seriously, there's such a thing as TOO MUCH LP... O.o

Miley Cyrus is so fake..I don't even know how to describe it...the Jonas Brothers are retarded and I hate them ALL...Linkin Park is good, one of my top ten bands but yeah, they are a bit overrated...and Naked Brothers Band? I changed the channel as soon as the first episode of their show came on. I can't stand child bands or teenage singers like the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus and all that crap. EDIT: Whoaa....you kind of scare me, you know that? And it take a lot to scare me..remind me not to piss you off ^^'

Hell, I was at first until I kind of just took a step back and looked at it. The movie was such a disappointment to me also Maria. I can't imagine why people love it. It left out some of the best parts of the books. I do like the books. I don't love them though. A book I do love though, is Wicked. It's exceptional. But I guess I shouldn't talk, since I'm currently reading New Moon for the fact that it has Jacob Black in it ;)

Then potter stuffs are too messy nowadays, I liked it back in the day though. then comes a few shitty movie, for example I didn't like Birth from Nicole Kidman at all, and Good luck Chuck is so overrated... there are way more things.:)
