Top Rated are NOT the top rated

WyrmSlayer Rank : 33	Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago at May 15 11:14 - Check out the top rated page. Top Rated Page Okay at the very top we have "Live After Death" by "Iron Maiden". It is owned by 28 people and its average rating is currently 8.96. Next is "Ventura" by "Los Hermanos" it is owned by 23 and has a rating of 8.92. Now this looks all fine and dandy until you do a bit of searching. Look at this, the "David Crowder Band" albums page: David Crowder Page The top one here is "A Collision", owned by 25 people and has an average rating of 9.42. What is going on here? This album OBVIOUSLY has a higher rating than the highest top rated album. Why the heck isn't it at the top of the list? And it's not because a small number of people have given it high ratings because it has more people who own it than "Ventura" does! Is this a bug, Tom? I seem to remember David Crowder Band's albums being on the Top Rated album list before, but then they disappeared. Anyways, thanks for reading, hopefully we can get this problem fixed. WyrmSlayer
Prelude VIP Moderator Rank : 2	Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago at May 15 11:25 - I believe the limit used to be minimum 10 ratings before it show up on the list. I think its now 20 ratings minimum. And if you look, even though Iron Maiden has 28 people listing it, it has 24 of them have rated it. David Cowder album, with 25 people listing it, has only been rated 12 times. I for one agree the limit should be 20 ratings minimum, and increase it over time as site gets busier. And if thats the case, then Cowder is simply missing 8 more ratings before he can make the list again.

Longest Journey used to be on page one of top rated games, and it dissappear recently. It only has 18 ratings, so it seems that 20 is the new limit before an item makes it into the top rated lists. I'm ok with that; previous limit of 10 ratings was too low.

Prelude VIP Moderator Rank : 2	Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago at May 15 18:52 - Wyrm, GB is mentioning this because item merging is already occuring in Games, and will be started soon for Music next, so if you copy 'n' paste same review for every version, when those editions get 'merged', there will be a half dozen duplicate reviews. So might want to just keep that in mind and perhaps adjust your reviews accordingly.
