There are 8 anime programmes on the first page alone. http://www.listal.com/search/tv/1/?sortby=rating This difference this time is, most of you must have seen a few of the TV shows...take your time to youtube a bit of it if your scruples wont let you rate without a watch. Wolf-Paw Rank : 99	Posted : 2 months, 1 week ago at May 14 13:39 - Actually, a few of those are actually good animes, Basically, Rurouni Kenshin is the only one that should be anywhere near the 1st page But, that doesn't mean I am gunna lower my scores for the ones that I actually liked(I.E. Death Note, Bleach and YuYu Hakusho) However, I do wonder if everyone is giving 10s and junk because it actually IS one of the best animes they have seen, or if it is because they just want animes up there

Anime, as its used now is defined by certain codes and conventions; including an certain drawing and animating technique, and shit storylines. As wiki says: In English, dictionary sources define anime as "a Japanese style of motion-picture animation" or "a style of animation developed in Japan". Is this what you see when you watch it?!

A show like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has only been watched by 28 people and is rated higher than Heroes and has been watched by 1031 people. More weight should be factored into the number of people that have watched a show/movie. To be fair to anime, the fact that Naruto outranks Neon Genesis Evangelion is just plain sad. If you are going to rank anime, at least make them good ones. Where is the Patlabors, Ghost in the Shell, Graves of the Fireflys, Lupin III, and the Ghibli films.

Wolf-Paw Rank : 99	Posted : 2 months ago at May 14 20:43 - I gave Naruto what I think it deserves(A 1or a 2 I think) and I gave shippuden what I think it deserves(A 3 or a 2 if I remember no offense GemLil, but not all animes have big eyes and unrealistic junk, thats the typical stereotype, just like it being a japanese only thing, it was developed in Japan, but Americans or Europeans or Africans could make a show if they wanted to... It's just, most people here in America are too lazy to do it, and most in other places either don't have access to it, or just don't want to... I have yet to see X-files, for some reason it always ends when I flip t the channel that may have it on I think the problem is that animes are given 10/10 by a bunch of idiots, and al other shows are given 1/10 by those same idiots

Wolf-Paw Rank : 99	Posted : 2 months ago at May 14 20:59 - Naruto is an anime developed by EDIT Masashi Kishimoto it is about ninja, though... the main character is a loudmouthed stubborn idiot who acts like an 8 year old(and is 14) they overpower everything and exaggerate everything, then they underexagerrate, pretty much every show has a different plot and there isn't much of a good plot line

I agree, who wants to be a stubborn idiotic immature hyperactive kid? theres a reason why the show is 7 and up, it is made for 7 year olds(at least, the U.S. version, the Japanese version is more... 12 and up or 14 and up) My bad Serial Killer, I don't really care for the show, so I wouldn't know, I'll wiki it real quick

Wolf-Paw Rank : 99	Posted : 2 months ago at May 14 21:14 - No, the Japanese version(the way it is REALLY Translated and UNCUT) is probably about 8+ in Japan The English version(No blood and slightly changed translations) are 7+ and probably about 5+ in Japan The English version of nearly ALL animes is censored and a censorship of a persons Ideas, I honestly refuse to watch any animes that have been dubbed because they lack what the creator made for instance, in Naruto, during that invasion, the guy who was hit by the three kunais had a trail of blood following him when he fell, and that teacher dude got a majorly bloody nose when Naruto did the sexy jutsu thing but in the english, all(ALL) blood is edited out except for thelittle busted lip, or the slightly bleeding scratch In the Japanese version, there are some things said that lead to thinking they may be doing something later(If you catch my drift) and they cuss a LOT in the English, None THAT is why it is 7+ in English, cuz we have less maturity, while there 7+ is completely different
Bael VIP Rank : 5	Posted : 2 months ago at May 15 0:52 - regarding naruto, the manga is actually not bad for a shonen, so you have drama, action, comedy and quite well-developed characters, twists and turns in the generally quite interesting storyline. the anime tv show on the other hand consists mostly of fillers, which are redundant. however, i don't think we should decide what's good taste and what not. if those kids only know dull and cheaply produced anime shows, that don't deserve 10 stars, let them rate those shows however they like (only make sure, as xpsuser stated, that the weighting is reasonable and that it is like in IMDB where high ratings _and_ many votes make the top spots). i'm sure they don't even know many of the greats because they lack the age or time. but one advantage of Listal is it's ability to introduce people to other tastes, and this is where the true chance is. not forcing our taste upon them, but showing them by good reviews, lists etc. that a world of good television shows beside anime exists out there.
