Buried in the past and minds of those aware of its existence, Star Gladiator was Capcom's first foray into the realm of the three-dimensional fighting. Having a history as wild as its characters, many speculate the game was developed with the intention of being a Star Wars game. An earlier attempt at what would come to life in LucasArts' Masters of Teras Kasi? Perhaps, but true or not, the thought... read more

"Note: I'm sure the fact that most of these tracks have the word "laboratory" in their title is just a happy accident. + Empire's Medical Laboratory (Star Gladiator) - Additional Pick(s): + Dr. Light's Laboratory (Mega Man 8) + Split Mushroom Stage (Mega Man X4) + Gate's Laboratory Stage (Mega Man X6) + Leonard's Laboratory (SaGa Frontier) Note: Like the various tracks from Tomb Raider, the tracks present from Star Gladiator like "Empire's Medical Laboratory" were given makeshift names becaus"

" Track Title: Fourth Empire's Scouting Ship (unofficial name) Composer: Yuko Takehara, Isao Abe Arrangement: ??? Lesson: If you're porting a game and you have to chance to significantly upgrade the audio, do it! After scolding Capcom in the last entry, I'm going to pat them on the head here. Unlike most games today, Star Gladiator was like many older fighting games where the game was initially released in arcades. The thing is, the sound on the ZN-1 arcade board the game used was severely unde"

" Picture of My profile Hayato Kanzaki Unlike the Street Fighter series, Star Gladiator doesn't really have a pair of characters that are a quintessential take on Ken and Ryu. Those types of characters are kind of rolled into one and represented by Hayato Kanzaki. Hayato, the main character of the franchise, was abandoned by his parents on the streets of Neo Tokyo as child. After growing up in an orphanage Hayato turned to life as a bounty hunter to support himself and the orphanage operator. F"

"No.093 / Added: 10.12.10 / Status: Played While Capcom's first foray into three dimensional fighting can’t quite pony up the kind of longevity needed to challenge Soul Blade’s crown as the best weapon-based fighter on the PlayStation, it still makes a great companion piece to that title. It’s easy to see how the game never caught on (it did spawn a lackluster sequel) it definitely deserved a little more attention than it received in the end."

Having a history as wild as its characters, many speculate the game was developed with the intention of being a Star Wars game. An earlier attempt at what would come to life in LucasArts' Masters of Teras Kasi? Perhaps, but true or not, the thoughts of worlds and galaxies beyond the earth would remain ingrained and became a clever, covert homage to its perceived source material. Unfortunately, as solid as the game ended up being, it would never overcome it's lack of marketing or the fact that Namco would release it own weapons-based fighter, Soul Edge, in the following year. So without further ado, let's look at what makes Star Gladiator ti” read more
