Spider-Man's well-established control scheme is better than ever in Web of Shadows. Griptonite's take on the character successfully combines non-linear exploration with brawling, making backtracking and gaining new abilites satisfying and the deep combat system a joy to master without favoring one in particular. Spidey's effortless controls, combined with a constantly-adjusting camera, cinematic score, lively voice acting, and effe"

Howzabout this for a choice?
I choose to kick yo' butt rather than punch yo' face!
This game has to have one of the best control schemes in all of platforming. I'm a sucker for unique, smooth controls. There's a lot of depth to the combat system as well, and learning it helps in but isn't required for beating the game. When I play this, Spidey's practically an extension of myself - extensions of Spidey included.
When I first and second played this game, I don't think I appreciated its control"

My ability to critique video games has gotten quite a bit better since the last two times I played this game. That being said, I actually appreciated it a lot more this time. Spidey's controls are a pleasure to make use of, the combat is so deep, and the Metroidvania basis holds up well since getting power-ups and backtracking never seem to be a chore. It's a little short, but it's substantial in length and what's there is amazing.

"This was the first in the engine. Solid beat 'em up with a big nonlinear map. There wasn't anything big that I didn't like about this one. Though for those expecting the choice between good and evil to play a big role, they may be disappointed as there isn't much choice and it doesn't have a huge effect on the course of the game.
