Sonic & Knuckles - Sega Genesis and Mega Drive

By some ingenious feat of engineering, this game could be attached to previous Sonic games and you could roam those levels with Sonic and Knuckles, his new nemesis. More gloriously colourful levels and bonus stages, but with a superb retroactive feature that blew my mind as a young'un.

When I first collected all of the emeralds and super emeralds I managed to unlock hidden last levels that could only be undertaken as super sonic. That was without doubt my original ultimate achievement in videogaming history! If I still had the components to my Megadrive, i'd probably be playing this game as we speak. It's still the same fast-paced, action-packed, side-scrolling platformer, but it's just so much more fun to play!

great game as all the sonic games are for mega drive
it has good music tricky levels

game as a lock on cartridge which allows you to play as knuckles in Sonic 2 if you join sonic 2 with the sonic and knuckles cartridge

also if you have sonic 3 cartridge you put sonic 3 on top of the sonic and kunckles cartridge and this will allow you to play as kunckles in sonic 3

More of the same running around and collecting rings, but how cool was this for having the capability of plugging in another sonic game into it, and then you could play another different game?

Fast paced, tricky extra levels, and lots of rolling around.

One of the best Sonic games imho.
