The United States versiAn American TV crew has arrived in Japan to film an expose on the legend of the "vanished village." The player must uncover the mystery behind the curse that grips the eerie village of Hanuda.
Siren: Blood Curse was released only via PlayStation Network, as a downloadable game in the United States. The United States version of this game has been heavily censored to receive "Mature" ESRB rating. Examples include: Extremely violent stabbing scene in the intro, which is omitted in U.S. version, by the way of applying shaky camera motion filters & altering the video angle itself. Scene where Seigo Saiga commits suicide by placing a .338 caliber hunting rifle in his mouth and blowing his head and brains out. Characters & enemies show significantly (in some places completely omitted) lower amount of blood splatter decals on skin, clothes, and face. (This also removes the ability to view realistic cut and slice wounds) Scenes including Bella Monroe and Shibitos have been cut, due to her being a minor, which was deemed inappropriate by the rating board. Much like the original Siren for PS2, this game has also been edited out for the American release. However, the download version and the Bly-ray disc version have not been censored in Japan, Europe and Asia. These latter three territories have the original uncut version with full gore and content, and are just as developers intended them to be.... (more)(less)
