I hate that name Genesis the US should have used the name we have Mega Drive sounds a lot better. This console is classic i still own mine and i have Sonic, Streets Of Rage all time classics. After having my Mega Drive for so many years still to this very day it works and I think that this was the best console that Sega made
I'd kill a man and eat his flesh to get my old Mega Drive back.
Cool spot, Sonic, Streets of Rage, Street Fighter, ToeJam and Earl, James Pond..to name but a few. Each spent more time with me than my mum or day..through my choice I assure you. If you didnt own this console, god bless you. For all those who did 'Up,Down,Left,Right, A,B,C!!' to you all.

"I had the 2nd model version in the late 90's and I only remember having one game for it but probably also the best game for it. Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Of course now I have a lot more games for it."
"First system I ever played.
First system I own.
First system that broke down on me.
I got my mine in 1997 when I was six years old from my cousin of mine. I did remember playing the Genesis at my grandaunt house before 1997. "

"Owned from 1997 - 1998
First Game: See Down Below
I played video games before 1997, but I never had my own console until 1997. My older cousin of mine give me a lot of games with the Genesis and it would take over half of this list.

"Classic system that managed to mimic the SNES while keeping a personality all its own. Great memories of renting games for this system over and over, classics like Bonanza Bros, Sonic, General Chaos, and ToeJam and Earl. I earned many a blister on that huge controller."
"My grandmother got me and my brother this I'm thinking in 1992 because we got Sonic 2 with it. It was quite a surprise! I still remember playing Sonic 2 with my little brother back then and by myself figuring out how to play it without reading any manuals or anything. I was 4 years old at the time I started playing video games. I think I may have even played some NES games before this that my dad had as well so I've been playing games all my life pretty much."
