Four years after the epic conclusion of Resistance 2, dishonorably discharged Sentinel Joseph Capelli is in hiding from the invading Chimeran menace with a pocket of survivors, including his new wife and young son. But when Dr. Fyodor Malikov arrives with a desperate plan, he sets into motions the events of Resistance 3, the third installment in the popular full-featured first-person shooter series. Resistance 3 is created by critically-acclaimed developer Insomniac Games exclusively for the PlayStation 3 system.
Set in a brutal, alternate 1950s universe, America has been successfully conquered and destroyed by the deadly Chimeran race, forcing the last remaining human survivors to seek refuge in hiding. Players must take on the role of Joseph Capelli, the last surviving Sentinel from a clandestine military program, as he comes out of hiding to journey across a land of ruin in a heroic fight for survival against the merciless Chimera. In addition to an epic single-player campaign, Resistance 3 will offer two-player online or split-screen co-op through the single-player campaign, and a new, focused progression-based multiplayer experience.
"
Resistance 3 was part of the plethora of shooters in the same quarter of the year with number 3 at the end of their titles. This is one of the more impressive shooters to come out in that quarter, even with a short length, it had a plethora of versatile weapons and able to carry them all and I liked how it reminded me of the campy alien films back in the 1950's even if it does seem like it takes it self quite seriously."
"In the third game of the series, they reintroduced the coop, splitscreen option for the campaign. While the controls were messed with and were a bit difficult getting used to (they weren't quite as intuitive as those on the original game), this game is definitely a step up from the second installment. The same great atmosphere, with some new twists in this one (in this one you "bleed out" before actually dying, but you can still move to reposition yourself or try to research your friend to be re"

"This game has absolutely superb gameplay. It has, without a doubt, some of the most fun weapons I've ever seen in a first-person shooter. One of the staples of the series, the Bullseye is still fun and effective, with it's homing bullets, and a new weapon called the Mutator is an absolute riot to use.
In a gaming market already saturated with post-apocalyptic American settings, this game initially didn't seem to offer much in the way of innovation. Especially once it was brought to my atte"

"The Resistance series has been kind of a roller-coaster for me. I loved the first game, and was sorely disappointed by the second. I like this game quite a bit, because I felt that they remembered the things that made the first game great. Although, I do think the character of Joseph Capelli is a bit of an enigma. He is very human and relatable in the cutscenes, but he is essentially a silent protagonist when you control him, but, the thing is is that the story keeps being told outside of th"

"Got this in a move bundle with the sharpshooter. Calibrating it is kind of tough at first, but once I got it down it's pretty fun. Still need to dive into it some more, having trouble with jumping while running cuz the X button is rather awkwardly placed but I'm sure I'll figure out how to comfortably play with the sharpshooter with some practice."

""It hits you right between the eyes from the start and never lets up. The control is tight, the variety (fueled by different enemies, upgradeable weapons, and gigantic bosses) is absolutely essential, the atmosphere has a large impact, the story and characters are compelling, and the pacing and technical style is second-to-none." - PSX Extreme
