This was my first real forray into the FPS world and to be honest, I didn't know what was going on. I can't even recall what inspired me to buy this game, I had literaly no idea what it was about.

Looking back, the gameplay was extremely repetitive and I would take Unreal Tournament over this any day. I don't know why Quake decided to make a deathmatch only game, but it's nothing genre defining. Unreal Tournament definitely beats this in virtually all aspects that you'd expect to see in a deathmatch game. Apart from colours, at times this game is seizure inducing.
