Love it or hate it, Mega Man games grow like leaves on trees. Given the vast amount of success Mega Man enjoyed during the early years of the NES, it was only natural that some version of the game would end up on Nintendo's portable, gray brick. Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (known as Rockman World in Japan) would mark the beginning of yet another series of titles for the blue bomber, one of the fi... read more

Video Game Music: Lessons We Can Learn (35 games items)

" Track Title: Fire Man Stage (unofficial name) Composer: ??? (Not even Capcom knows!!!) Lesson: If you compose music for a game, make sure you get credited... people like to know this stuff. Capcom, Capcom, Capcom. You've done some things that have really annoyed me over the years. The dismal fate of the Mega Man X series comes to mind, oh and the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. But you know what I think is a little bit sadder? Even you have no clue who worked on the handheld versions the "

Favorite Mega Man Tunes (21 games items)

" Title: Fire Man Stage Composer: Unknown You know, Capcom kind of pisses me off. The handheld Game Boy games were handed off/outsourced and not created internally by Capcom. Because of this - and the fact their is no credit roll at the end of the game - even they have no clue who worked on it. This means (aside from the horrible Mega Man II which does have a credit roll) we'll never know who wrote these crunchy tunes. Dude - or dudette - who ever you are, Fire Man's theme is just too cool for"

Games of 1991 - ranked by preference (40 games items)

"Release Date: July 26, 1991 (JP) Publisher: Capcom Developer: Capcom Genre: Platformer Only containing 4 of the original 6 bosses, Mega Man is still a decent title, but lacks some of the fun and longevity of the NES Mega Man games. It's not bad for an early, portable Mega Man experience, and it captures much of what makes the console games fun, but it just doesn't live up to the quality of the games you can play on the big screen in your living room. It's good...But far from great."

Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (known as Rockman World in Japan) would mark the beginning of yet another series of titles for the blue bomber, one of the first Capcom would outsource rather than develop internally.

Given that this title is often referred to as "Mega Man" given the lack of subtitle on the title screen, the first thing most people do is compare this to the 1987 original. This makes since the game borrows from that game, presenting four of its six robot masters. While Cut Man, Elec Man, Ice Man and Fire Man reappear in all the” read more
