When it comes to RPG's, all I know is I've had my fill. In the late 90's with the PlayStation in full swing, it almost seemed like every other game coming out was an RPG, much like how every other game today is a first person shooter. As mindless as the later appears to be anymore, genres have their time and place, and time has taught me what I once considered a goldmine was no different. Memories... read more

AW's Game Collection 2.0 (226 games items)

"To those that know my tastes, my likes and dislikes, it probably seems odd that Silver Star Harmony has kept a spot in my collection even after I have slimmed it down over the last few years. It's true my problems with Lunar's narrative still exist (obviously) but beyond that this is a really well done remake that removes all the archaic stumbling blocks that saw life in the title's previous iterations."

"While seemingly placid on the surface, the world of Lunar is slowly descending into chaos, as the Goddess Althena, the creator and guardian of the world, has disappeared and the valiant efforts of the legendary Dragonmaster Dyne and his faithful companions fade into obscurity. With Althena gone and no one able or willing to become the next Dragonmaster, a shadowy figure, known only as the Magic Emperor, has started plotting to usurp Althena's place and become a god. In a remote village far remov"

"No.115 / Added: 03.22.11 / Status: Played As much as I hate to say it – especially considering how lackluster I found Silver Star Story Complete to be on the PlayStation when it came out in 1999 – Silver Star Harmony is what Wild Arms Alter code: F could have, should been to the original Wild Arms. There’s no other way to say it: Silver Star Harmony a very nice remake that accomplishes an amazing goal: making me forget that I’m far from being a fan of Lunar. Last Played: 03.23.11 ~ 03.31"

As mindless as the later appears to be anymore, genres have their time and place, and time has taught me what I once considered a goldmine was no different. Memories fade, reality crashes the party yet fanboys continue to place games on pedestals.

It's those pedestals that I want to talk about. No, I'm not going to go on an anti-FF7, Xenogears rant here, but rather a Lunar rant. Lunar might have been hot in 1992 on the Sega CD - a system that practically no one had/has - but by the time it reached the PS1 in Silver Star Story Complete in 1999, I had” read more
