One of the first games I've ever played. Every few years I go back and play through this game. I can now beat it in a single day. I have this entire game memorized. It borders on being less of a action-adventure game than a puzzle game for me, and I already know all of the solutions. I never get tired of the classic theme music and sound effects.

Finally got around to playing the game entirely in two days. I had some time on my hands and would play through a few dungeons and then take a break. Zelda is a series I have loved for a quite a few years, so it was nice to head back to where it began to see how much as changed this then. The game itself is an amazing start for a franchise that did nothing but get better after every entree. I am more than thrilled that I went back to the beginning and look forward to playing other games in t"

#1: The Legend of Zelda - 1986 NES
Choosing the number one in this category wasn't difficult. What was difficult was classifying games as Action-Adventure, as many of them could also be classified in other categories. In the end, I limited it to gameplay similar to the original Zelda, although if you have any suggestions for this category, please feel free to let me know. So, with that said, choosing the original Zelda wasn't a difficult choice for me. Very few games compare to Zelda, and the"

"A Game from your childhood
I have many fond memories playing this title non-stop with my Dad. All of the little hidden rooms to find and the battle with Gannon actually made my heart beat a little faster. It is one of my fondest memories of falling in love with gaming.
Honourable Mention: Double Dragon, Contra, Zombies Ate my Neighbor "
"When I saw the used Golden Zelda cartridge I had to have it. I instantly liked the game, even though there's games that have better graphics and music it is still a great classic and a hard one as well. I remember buying a magazine that had the map of Hyrule and all the secret places."

"This may be the best game that Nintendo ever made. It spawned a ridiculous amount of sequels, prequels, and offshoot games that are loved by the masses. It is fun to play, hard to beat, and you feel amazing every time you discover a new hidden area.

This is the classic, the game that spawned a franchise, and one of my all-time favorites. I'm not quite as much as a master of it as my brother is, who reached the end of the game without a sword, but I have beaten both quests. I still have a number of games in this series to play and master, but I will always return to this game, and not merely for nostalgia. This game still is addictive and a joy to play."
"Princess Zelda Sure, one reason is that the games are called Legend of Zelda (and not Legend of Link), but more importantly, it's that most Zelda games allowed you to customize the main character's name. What may have been Link for you, was Tom, Chris, or AAAAAA for another player. But one name was always constant: Zelda. The mysterious princess first appeared in the US in 1987's Legend of Zelda for the NES"

The first time I played this game was a downloadable version in the gamepro website long long ago. I remember that getting to the first dungeon and beating it was a pain. But after trojans killed my PC the data was erased and I never found the game again. I ended up buying it for a new old Gameboy Advance SP I bought (my first portable). This game is the hardest thing I have ever played. I spend weeks and months trying to figure out how to beat it. It is great but it is so god dam hard, every"
